*********

Times changed soon after then and Keila found herself giving in to her dad's wish like she didn't have much choices.

She was engaged to Hamilton but she knew he wasn't really her type. It had all been her dad and his own at work.

He was very busy and barely had time for her since they met. Not as if she really minded but a part of her wanted time with Hamilton. Why?, she wasn't sure but she knew she didn't love him, certainly.

Hamilton didn't mind settling down with her though and he started to take charge of some of her responsibilities as if she couldn't, which probably was one of why she started feeling like knowing him better.

Alex was the happiest with the way things turned out, Keila just confided in Lexy and she seldom spoke to Dawn about it. She minded her work also and got along with everybody almost fine, except she never saw Miles after they met.

Also, she and Camilla never reconciled because she couldn't help but hate her. Camilla didn't show what a good friend was to her and she found out she didn't need her.

She stopped calling Hayden also after the time he had opened up to her but she knew she didn't have the happy and free like she wanted to live, the kind of life she had when they were together.

Things took a different turn from how she had planned it. Everything just happened so fast for Keila and at times she wished she could turn back the hands of time.

Lexy was five months pregnant. Her own wedding with Hamilton was in a month's time. Hayden would hopefully be back in four months.

Keila heaved a sigh as she thought about all these. Hayden never ceased to be a past in her life after she realized she had been wrong about him. She still thought of him and tossing pride aside, constantly asked Lexy how he fared, since they got in touch better.

Each time she imagined Hayden and Elena together, her heart tore. Lexy had told her they were nothing, and at a point she had believed but since he told her he has a girlfriend, Keila couldn't help but think it was Elena. They seemed to get along when they met years.

She couldn't ask him the questions she had in mind and not even Lexy would answer them, it was no longer her business. But she felt heartbroken that Hayden had gone ahead to date Elena which remained her assumption. Elena doesn't deserve him, her mind cried.

"You're lost", Lexy tapped her .

"Fuck, I was just thinking".

"About?".

"A lot of things", she sighed again.

She and Lexy had gone shopping on a Saturday mostly for her baby stuffs. They were having lunch out and having light talks when Keila drifted off thinking.

"Everything will be fine one day", Lexy assured as if she she was sure.

"But when Lex?, I never expected this to happen to me. Being forced to get married to someone was never in the plan".

"At times, everything don't go the way we plan. At least you are not forced to marry a man who is old enough to be your father himself. I'm not saying this is good but you're partially fine and I guess half a loaf in this case is better than none. You should be thankful and hope for better times ahead".

"But you know I don't love Hamilton?".

"You like him, that, I'm sure of".

"You married James because you loved him, I wish I had the choice".

"I think you did have a choice with Hayden but things got shitty. If this lessens your pain then you should hear. Remember when we were in high school and you were awarded a scholarship on merit while I even took an exam for it, just to remove a burden from my parent, not because they couldn't afford it but I wanted to feel useful for once and I still didn't get it. I did cry a lot but I've learnt life's lesson. There were other times things didn't Favour me too Keila. Funny enough, everything starts at a point, you will get to love him".

After taking in all Lexy said, she answered with the truest thing in her mind.

"I never see that as possible".

"Dear friend, nothing is impossible".

"Fine, I give up. It's just weird. We aren't even close, I doubt if he knows what I prefer".

"Do you know his?".

"Same goes here".

"It's not immediate for you to know each other's preferences. You guys will have to come up in this".

"He doesn't have the time".

"Sometimes, when life turns you in a direction, you have to move but be wise enough to make the situation favor you, you are in this already. Hamilton is going to be your husband and you will help him make time for yourself. Don't overdo it and be contented with the little time he spends with you. I know he will see reasons one day why you need more time. He will when he can't help but start loving you, charm him girlie", Lexy whined.

"I get to wait till one day".

"No much choice there buddy. You will pray it's soon".

"I don't see this marriage working out", Keila cried out in frustration.

She wasn't even feeling any enthusiasm towards her big day. She didn't feel like making plans but Lexy forced her and stood by her. Hamilton himself was busy and rarely saw to stuffs. They didn't even want it so big, so it saved stress. Just family and a bit of friends.

"It would, no going back. Your dad is working on time, we both know".

"And if it isn't my time?".

"I bet you hope it's your time, because you are a lady and you can't waste time. It's stressful moving from one guy to another in search for greener pastures. Where things look rosy, it could turn sour, the reverse is also the case in some places. We all just want the best. Now don't stress your poor head and take your mind off this. I'm not so good at advising", Lexy shrugged and laughed but her friend didn't.

"Thanks", she muttered as if she wasn't listening, but still smiled.

"Finish up your drink, we should go", Lexy reminded her.
