Chapter 64

Auden's POV

Everyone's dressed and ready, it's just Jaelyn left. She refuses to get dressed cause she wants to wear her red dress instead of the blue one. I tried but left the fighting to mom. She can handle her the best.

Dad's wearing a simple gray suit with a blue tie. Mom's wearing a long blue dress with sleeves and has her hair up in a bun. Emery found a purple dress, it looks amazing on her. It's a tight short dress, that ends about just above her knees. She decided to go with a loose braid with strands of hair resting on the side of her face.

She's up in her room doing some finishing touches. Everything's been going smoothly, just how I like it.

Step 1. Take a shower and shave ✔️✔️

Step 2: Have breakfast ✔️✔️

Step 3: Get ready, clothes ✔️✔️

Step 4: Get ready, hair ✔️✔️

Step 5: Sit down and breathe ✔️✔️

Step 6: Double-check the checklist ✔️✔️

I think dad's in the living room, this would be the time to talk to him. Why am I so nervous? 

I walk into the room and sit on the couch beside him. "Hey, dad?"

"Yeah?"

"I ehm... I have a question."

"Look, I know we never had the talk but I'm not explaining what happens-"

"NO! No, God no. I already- No. Not what I wanted to say."

"Good. That'd be awkward." It already is...

"No, I ehm... I was wondering something."

"Okay, what?"

I look at him for a few seconds, building up the courage. "Can we turn off the tv?" He looks at me then grabs the remote and turns it off. "Great... I don't really know how to put it."

"Is everything okay? Are you having second thoughts? Auden, it's okay-"

"No! No, definitely not. I love Oliver. It's about the wedding."

"Can you say it or do you want to play the guessing game?" He says, at least he's smiling. I'm nervous as hell.

"Right, sorry. I know that it was a shock when I came out as gay." He stiffens by the mention and opens his mouth but I start talking before he has the chance to. "I love how you guys accepted me. And you've grown with me, in my relationship too. I know that it's not tradition for a father to walk his son down the aisle but I'd like-"

"Auden stop." My heart's beating like crazy. We never talk about stuff like this. "Do you honestly think I'd ever say no to that? You're my son, my son. There's no chance you're walking down that aisle without me by your side."
