Analise watched Daniel rap on her phone screen. With a blunt in his hand, he moved his hand around while rapping each lyric with his eyes closed. Her face wasn't in the camera, but Daniel still knew how awe stricken she was based on her words.
"And she knows I'm the shit like what? Huh? Dthang plumber. And I'm off the drugs. Told her pull up I wanna fuck. Ion want no love, and nah Ion lay up, don't the hugs, like, like. In the field Ion care 'bout viewers, watch out smoochies they might wanna do us. For Woo we upping the pistols, knock on my waist I told Bando to bend through," he rapped, bopping his head side to side.
He paused at the end before his eyes opened and went to the camera.
"How I sound?" he asked.
"Really good. You aren't doing like the background noises; whatever it's called?" she asked.
Daniel chuckled. "Ad-libs, but yeah, I am. After I finish recording the song I do 'em."
Analise nodded. "Okay."
"Lemme see ya face."
Analise shook her head. She would've showed her face, but her lip was busted and she forgot to cover it before he called her. In her frustrations, she vented to Daniel about what Jordan did to her car. It wouldn't be difficult for him to piece together the cause of her busted lip-and it was the last thing she needed.
"I look busted," she said.
"Hope a lame ass light skin nigga don't be havin' you cryin' and shit," Daniel said, shaking his head.
Analise giggled. "Fuck you."
"Dthang, you ready?" a man asked, and he nodded his head before taking a pull from the blunt.
Analise could faintly here the beat and the verse Daniel just rapped. He picked up where he left off, rapping what sounded to be the ending of the song. Once he finished, he ran back the chorus of the song, then let the beat ride out. The second he finished, he put the blunt to his lips and pulled the headphones off his head.
