new chapter along with chapter 19!

Analise didn't have to work at Clarence's today, but she found herself there early in the morning. Her hope was that there was extra space in the garage for one of her project cars. Some things she could do herself, but others she couldn't. Since her cars were at Daniel's house, she could have asked him to fix it for her. However, she was trying to respect his boundaries, so coming to the shop for help was her best bet.

When she arrived, Clarence's car was the only one in the employee lot. They didn't open until about a half hour from now. Analise figured since she came earlier, Clarence could help with the AC compressor and an engine swap. She knew it all couldn't get done before the shop opened, but her hopes were to work on it all day with the help of the people in the shop. With Rae'Lynn at work, Analise would rather keep herself occupied than to continue staying cooped up inside the house. At least in the shop she knew Jordan wouldn't come to try to hurt her.

After pulling around to the front of the garage, Analise got out of her car. Since she opened and closed sometimes, she had a key to the building. Analise walked around to the front to let herself into the shop. A majority of the lights were off except the two that stayed on whenever they closed the store. The light was just enough for Analise to see to walk behind the counter to the employee room and the garage.

Before she could even make it into the employee room, Clarence emerged from the navy-blue door.

"Promise?" His eyebrows were mashed together. "What the hell are you doing here so early? I thought someone broke in or something."

"I need help with my AC compressor," Analise said before she bit down on her lip. "And maybe an engine swap?"

Clarence shook his head. "We can't accomplish either of those in half an hour, but we can get started."

"Thank you, so much. I know it's a little inconvenient. I really just needed something to keep myself occupied with for the day, and my babies are just collecting dust."

He turned around and held the door open to the employee room. "Daniel is in The Bronx, so you must be bored, huh?"

Analise didn't know Daniel was in The Bronx. When she checked his location earlier, it said that his location couldn't be found. Part of the reason she came to the shop today was in hopes to see him. However, Clarence just revealed Daniel wouldn't be showing up to work and he was back in New York. Since Daniel moved to Bryxton he hadn't returned back to The City. What made him leave two days earlier than planned? Even when she spoke to Bando the day prior, he never mentioned anything about Daniel coming down.
