Daniel walked up to his father's door with his phone to his ear.

"They about to hang up this phone. Love you, my heart," Tdot said.

"Love you, too, muddy."

After Daniel ended the call with Tdot, he knocked on his father's door. Daniel was supposed to spend his day with his father since his mother complained how he hadn't spent any time with him.

Being twenty-one, Daniel had no real interest in building a relationship with his father. He was grown and felt like his father already missed out on the most important things in his life. Daniel had been in Bryxton for three weeks now, and the only time he saw his father was at work. Even then, their conversations were usually short. He'd spent more with with Analise more than anyone.

If Analise didn't have a car to work on today, he'd be with her instead. It was Wednesday and they'd been with each other every day since she did his hair. After their spending time together every day for the last week and a half, he felt he could consider her a friend.

Danie was trying to keep to his word and keep her out of the house, so she didn't have to deal with the abuse. It wasn't his original idea-he planned to not say anything until she did. Nevertheless, his friends suggested he bring it up to her. Without having physically met Analise, all of his friends liked her after talking to her on FaceTime. To say the least, he was surprised because they rarely liked any woman Daniel brought around. But Analise was definitely unlike anyone he ever entertained.

The front door to his father's house opened, revealing the brown skinned man on the other side. He had on his blue jumper from work and his dreads were wrapped up with a black scarf on top of his head. Given he was still in his work clothes, Daniel assumed they must've been staying in the house.

"We stayin' in?" Daniel asked while he stepped inside.

"Yeah, I have work on something in my kitchen. Is that alright with you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Ion mind."

Daniel closed the front door behind him before following his father through his house. As he followed him, his phone vibrated in his hand. He checked his notifications to see it was his groupchat with Analise, Stunna, Lotti, Edai, and Bando. When Analise came to do his hair, Bando ended up calling him on FaceTime which turned into all of them talking and Bando wanting to make a groupchat.
