At five in the afternoon, Bai Yutang drove to Normal University with Zhan Zhao. When they arrived, students were either going home or getting food at the snack stalls outside the school gates. Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang got out of the car and walked to the school together while looking at the students who were looking for food. They could not help remembering the time they were in university, when it was a lot more relaxing.

As soon as they walked into the school, they attracted the attention of many people. At this time, the sky was gradually darkening. Bai Yutang took out the map Ma Xin drew for them and walked to the northwest of the campus together. Gradually, there were fewer and fewer people. They went to the woods near the north gate and turned into a small path.

"It's really secluded here." Zhan Zhao said as he looked left and right. "A girl should not come here alone."

"It's very likely that someone asked her to come, or that there was another reason..." Bai Yutang nodded, and as they spoke, they walked along the road, eventually arriving at the pond. At this time, the water in the pond had been pumped clean, and there was a thin layer of dry mud, withered plants and rubbish.

Zhan Zhao stood on the bank and looked at it. He pointed not far away and said, "Xiao Bai, that's the public toilet there."

Bai Yutang nodded and suddenly pulled Zhan Zhao to the side to hide.

"What are you doing?" When Zhan Zhao looked at him, Bai Yutang motioned for him to be silent, as he stared at the direction of the pond behind a bush in the forest.

Before long, they saw a man running out of the small path. He arrived at the pond and looked around. When he saw that there was no one, he squatted down by the pond, opened his bag and took some things out.

Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang looked at each other. The man was most likely a male student. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. He also had a black backpack. He opened the bag and took out some paper money and incense candles.

"Mei Mei... I've come to see you." The boy burned the paper and said, "I'm counting the days. I don't know when it's your seventh day. Your family won't tell me. I come every day now. One of the days will be correct. I'll burn some paper money for you. Please forgive me..."

Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang looked at each other. They did not know what the man's relationship was with Liu Mei, or what he meant by 'you must forgive me'.

While they were thinking, Bai Yutang suddenly turned back. Zhan Zhao also turned around. They saw a man standing not far behind them. At first glance, Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang were startled to see that he was a dark-skinned middle-aged man with dishevelled hair, wrinkles and scars. He had a sickle in his hand and was standing there with one foot in front and one foot behind. From his posture, he was trying to sneak up behind them.

Seeing Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang spin around, the man suddenly turned, wanting to run.

"Stop!" Bai Yutang rushed up and grabbed the man's shoulder. When he was caught, Bai Yutang noticed that he was slightly crippled.

"Who are you?" Bai Yutang asked him, taking out his handcuffs and putting them around him. The man let out a strange sound.

Zhan Zhao looked back and saw that the boy was also alarmed. He was looking curiously towards them. Seeing that the strange man was handcuffed, he asked, "Um... Are you guys the police?"

Zhan Zhao nodded to him and said, "Who are you?"

"I..." The boy wanted to answer, but he saw the man arrested by Zhan Zhao and said, "He's not a bad guy... He's a little scary, but he's not bad."
