Case 1. An Innocent Murderer: Chapter 14. Plotting

"The call came from inside the police station." Jiang Ping's words were like a cannonball igniting the stove—something exploded in everyone's minds! The people of SCI stood up and looked at each other, speechless.

"Its...A mole?" Bai Chi asked as his question woke up everyone from their shock. Bai Yutang immediately ordered, "Jiang Ping, bring up all the surveillance videos inside the police station, especially in places where there are very few people. The killer can't use a voice changing device in crowded places!"

"Okay!" Jiang Ping quickly connected her computer to the main control room to extract the videos.

"Everyone else, spread out. Work in pairs and find anyone that's suspicious!" Bai Yutang ordered.

Everyone quickly followed the order. Zhan Zhao suddenly shouted, "Luo Tian, you and Bai Chi stay here and watch the SCI offices!"

Everyone looked at Zhan Zhao in surprise.

"Cat, are you afraid that the killer is diverting us away from here on purpose?" Bai Yutang asked.

"I'm not sure..." Zhan Zhao shook his head. "I just feel uneasy." As he said that, he reached out and pressed the phone recording, trying to listen to the conversation again. Everyone left and scattered around the police station.

Zhan Zhao turned on the phone recording and listened to the playback. He slightly frowned. At this time, he heard someone come in through the door and say, "Bai Sir, this is a piece of evidence for SCI!"

"Evidence?" Bai Yutang was puzzled, "What evidence?"

"I don't know." The young policeman said, "The forensics department asked me to bring it over just now." As he spoke, he handed the evidence over.

Bai Yutang took it and looked around. The table was filled with case papers, so he put the evidence box on the swivel chair and opened the lid. He saw several tied bundles of explosives inside, with timers that was counting down——06, 05...

"Not good!" Luo Tian kicked the swivel chair fiercely. If an average person kicked this swivel chair, it would turn a few times at most and slide away. But Luo Tian was born with divine power. He kicked the chair far away as it slammed straight into a window facing the outside. The swivel chair hit the glass hard and smashed the window. The chair fell onto the ground, but the box flew out and far away. Then, there was an earth-shaking 'boom' sound.

A heat wave was emitted, as it shattered all the glass that was facing the outside. Glass fragments scattered everywhere, as Bai Yutang used one hand to hold Zhan Zhao and the other hand to pull Gong Sun, who was in a daze. They squatted behind the table together. Luo Tian also protected Bai Chi and hid. Jiang Ping had already crawled under the table. All of a sudden, the loud alarm for emergency evacuation sounded in the entire police station. The car alarms went off like crazy outside, and disorderly footsteps could be heard in the hallway. After a while, Bao Zheng rushed in, looking as pale as ever, and yelled, "What happened?" Looking around, he was surprised, "Where is everyone else?"

As soon as he spoke, he heard footsteps behind him. Everyone who had just left SCI to check for suspicious people rushed back, "Captain! Are you all okay?" They shouted as soon as they entered through the door.

Bai Yutang looked around at the others. Except for a small area on Luo Tian's arm that was pricked by pieces of glass, everyone else was fine.

Bao Zheng counted the number of people and found that none of them were missing. Everyone was all alive. He breathed out in relief, and with weak feet, he found a stool to sit down and gasp for air.

Bai Yutang reached out and helped Zhan Zhao and Gong Sun up. Bai Chi and Luo Tian also stood up. Bai Yutang patted Luo Tian on the shoulder with one hand, "Brother, you saved me twice. What a blessing!"

Luo Tian's actions earlier was entirely instinctive. Thinking about it now, it still felt a bit terrifying. When Luo Tian saw Bai Yutang say something about saving lives, Luo Tian laughed, "If it hadn't been for your kindness, where would I be today? It's probably just good things happening to good people."

Everyone laughed. After a false alarm, the first reaction was--Too lucky. They were extremely fortunate!
