"What has come to your mind?" Bai Yutang asked with curiosity.

"Well..." Zhan Zhao touched his chin. Then, he got out of the bed, ran to the storeroom and grabbed three boxes.

"What is this?" Bai Yutang looked at the boxes, puzzled. He had always thought they were shoe boxes. Zhan Zhao opened the boxes and saw that it was filled with letters.

"They are all written by the readers. The editor sorted them out and gave them to me." Zhan Zhao whispered, raising his eyes and glancing at Bai Yutang.

"Cat..." Bai Yutang pointed to the three shoeboxes, "How come I didn't know about this?"

"You get jealous easily..." Zhan Zhao whispered, "Wouldn't you have secretly burned them if I told you about this?!"

"Humph..." Bai Yutang raised his eyebrows and said in his heart 'I will burn them as soon as you have finished reading them!'

Zhan Zhao shone one letter at a time under the light, as if looking at what was inside the envelopes.

"What are you looking for?" Bai Yutang was puzzled.

"I remember that there were several letters with some petal-shaped things in them.

"Petals?" Bai Yutang also took the envelopes and placed them under the light, "Cat, you've never opened these letters?"

"Well...Each one only has a photo, which is very interesting. " Zhan Zhao said frankly, "Ah! Found it!" As he spoke, he pulled out three letters with the same pink envelopes and showed them to Bai Yutang, "Just these."

"The earliest one was mailed half a year ago." Bai Yutang raised his eyebrows and saw that there was no sender's address on the envelope, but only one name--student.

"Ah...This name." Bai Yutang shook his head and opened the envelope. Sure enough, a few petals slipped out, however the color was black or dark brown, rather than red. Bai Yutang had been a policeman for a long time, so he was naturally familiar with this color. This was the color of blood when it had dried up.

Zhan Zhao quickly pulled out the paper and began to read it.

"What does it say?" Bai Yutang curiously leaned forward and looked at it with Zhan Zhao.

This letter in front of them was very long, with words scattered across several pages. The handwriting was neat. There were lots of tables and pictures on it. It looked like a student's homework, really worthy of the name 'student'. Bai Yutang had only read a few lines when Zhan Zhao finished reading an entire page. In the end, Bai Yutang decided to give up and wait for Zhan Zhao to tell him. Instead, he lowered his head and concentrated on the petals.

"Whoa..." Zhan Zhao quickly read all three letters and put down the paper with a long sigh.

"What's the matter?" Bai Yutang looked up at him, "What did the letters say?"

"These letters showed a person's psychological evolution!" Zhan Zhao held up the first letter, which was four pages long, and said, "When this letter was written, this person was a student who was curious and interested in psychology but studied down the wrong path."

Zhan Zhao picked up the second letter, which had two pages, "In this letter, the person has gone further and further down the wrong path and began to subvert his entire outlook on life."

"This last one." Zhan Zhao picked up a piece of paper that was the size of a dried tofu, "This person has become sick*."

Bai Yutang took the three letters, read them, and asked Zhan Zhao, "What were they about?"

"The first letter." Pointing to the letter, Zhan Zhao said, "This person pretty much memorized my book and questioned some views. It roughly says that this person is very interested in some topics that I deliberately avoided."

"Topics deliberately avoided?" Bai Yutang was also interested, "What things did you deliberately avoid in the book?"

"For example, some details of psychological crimes, methods of hypnosis, hints on how to do it...They are all professional things that are not easy to learn." Zhan Zhao said, "I'm afraid that if I write about them, someone will learn only half of it and then go misuse it, causing harm to others and to themselves."

"Hmm." Bai Yutang nodded thoughtfully, "But it seems that this person is more interested in these technical things not available to the public."

"Let's put this aside first...Look here." Zhan Zhao pointed to the last line of the letter, "It's written 'I know you may not be able to read this letter, or you may not take it seriously, but I still want to say this sentence, I LOVE YOU!'"

Bai Yutang pouted and said, "This person fell in love from just a book?"

"There's also the second letter." Zhan Zhao pointed to the second letter, "This letter talks about a lot of the psychological results of his own research. It's all about those technical problems in practice. Look at the last sentence!"

As soon as Bai Yutang looked at it, he saw that the last sentence read, 'Say, if I committed a crime using a method I developed...Can you catch me?"

"Catch..." Bai Yutang was dumbfounded and went to read the last letter, "There won't be a 'body' in this, will it?"

In the last letter, there was only one sentence, which was, 'It seems that all theories are just empty words...There has to be an experiment to do research! Let me make a body."

Now, both of them were completely dumbfounded.

Bai Yutang was stunned for a long time before he came back to his senses, "Cat, is this kid doing an experiment?"

Zhan Zhao frowned and sat down by the sofa. He shook his head, "This person is not just doing an experiment, but is also asking me to do it together."

"What on earth is it for?" Bai Yutang sat next to him, "But this is also a clue. I will give them to my colleagues in the forensics department tomorrow and ask them to find out the source of this letter."

"En." Zhan Zhao nodded, "This person should be near us." Zhan Zhao whispered, "Maybe this person has a source for information. Otherwise, how could they have known our whereabouts so clearly, or even send things to our doorstep?"

"It's really suspicious." Bai Yutang reached out and collected the things, then put them in the evidence bag, "We will go back to the police station tomorrow morning and study it again. You're too tired tonight!" With that, he took Zhan Zhao back to his room and laid down on the bed.
