Case 4. Love Murderer: Chapter 19. Basement

Bai Yutang was very fast, and what he made was not too difficult. He baked a big piece of pizza, made a large pot of seafood soup, and made two strawberry sundaes for the children. Zhao Jue saw it outside and shouted, "Ah, I want it too! Put more strawberries!"

Everyone looked at him helplessly. Bai Yutang turned to look at Zhan Zhao, who was looking elsewhere. Bai Yutang made two more, one for Zhao Jue and one for Zhan Zhao. He wanted to make one for Bai Chi as well, but Bai Chi asked, "can I get a chocolate pudding..."

Zhao Jue probably didn't know that Zhan Zhao had liked to eat strawberry sundaes since he was young. He preferred a large cup of ice cream, sandwiched with a lot of sweet strawberries, and eaten slowly scooped with a spoon. Bai Yutang didn't make one for Zhan Zhao just now because he thought Zhan Zhao would not eat it in front of Zhao Jue... afraid of being made fun of. Now however, since Zhao Jue wanted to eat it, Bai Yutang decided to make it for both of them.

When Bai Yutang was done, Bai Chi and Luo Tian took the two children to wash their hands. The housekeeper and servant helped Bai Yutang deliver the prepared food. The housekeeper politely tasted the macaroni with a spoon and exclaimed, "that's amazing."

Bai Yutang smiled at him and said, "I've made a lot. Let's eat together."

The housekeeper immediately bowed to him politely. "That's very considerate of you."

Bai Yutang sniffed and thought to himself, "why did Zhao Jue find a foreigner?"

Afterwards, when everyone sat down, the food was served. Fang Xing and Xiao Xiao first scooped a spoonful of macaroni into their mouths, chewed it, and shouted, "delicious!"

Zhan Zhao stuffed some into his mouth and thought, "If Xiao Bai opened a restaurant, he would make a lot of money!"

Zhao Jue ate happily and said, "that's why they say mothers' genes are different. Yunwen can't even wash an apple."

"Ahem." Bai Yutang was eating when he choked at Zhao Jue's words.

Zhan Zhao quickly patted him, then asked curiously, "Uncle Bai can't even wash apples?"

Bai Yutang smiled and nodded.

"Do you want to know the embarrassing stories of Yunwen and Qitian when they were young?" Zhao Jue asked with a smile.

Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang were slightly curious. They glanced at each other and then heard Zhao Jue ask, "what about Bao Sir?"

Everyone immediately looked up at Zhao Jue. Their eyes revealed that they were all curious.

Zhao Jue smiled, moved the macaroni fork to his left hand, put the sundae in front of him with his right hand, and ate it with a spoon.

Bai Yutang turned to look at Zhan Zhao and saw that he did the same thing, but Zhan Zhao didn't seem to notice Zhao Jue's behaviour as he was staring down at the cub on his knees.

Everyone looked at Bai Yutang, who slightly shuddered. This was Zhan Zhao's usual habit of eating. He liked to eat salty and sweet together. He was very happy when he ate, and often had diarrhea after eating. Zhao Jue behaved exactly like Zhan Zhao.

"When Bao Sir was young... he was similar to Zhao Hu on your team." Zhao Jue suddenly said.

"Ahem." This time, Gong Sun, Bai Chi and Luo Tian all choked.

Gong Sun grabbed a tissue to wipe his mouth then asked, "really?"

"Well." Zhao Jue smiled and said, "once, we caught a murderer who escaped into a bomb shelter. We went down together... The bomb shelter was destroyed by bombs during the war. Apparently, many people had died inside it."
