Y/N Pov.

Carlos: We have to cross that bridge. Let's go.

Clementine and I stand by one another as Carlos speaks, but is quickly shut down by none other than Luke.

Luke: Hold on, now. We can't all go sprinting across that thing, okay? If we get spotted out there, we're gonna be trapped.

Carlos: Going around that lake will take too long.

Luke: Right, but... look, we've got no idea who's out there. Okay, I'm gonna sneak across and make sure it's clear before we bring the whole group over.

Carlos: You think splitting up the group is a good idea?

Luke smiles.

Luke: I never said it was a good idea. But it's better than risking everyone at once.

I nod to Luke.

Y/n: He's right. Having you all on there without knowing anything about the other side could be a problem. There could be people waiting to ambush us. You never know these days. Although I bet you've got a plan, Luke.

Luke nod and Alvin looks to him.

Alvin: What's your plan?

Luke points to Clementine and I as we stand beside him. It catches us by surprise for a moment, but Luke tells us his plan.

Luke: The kids and I can scoot across low and slow and make sure nobody's waiting for us on the other side.

Clem looks at me with a raised eyebrow and I shrug.

Y/n: Better than nothing.

Clementine: I guess so.

Alvin looks at us with a bit of caution.

Alvin: We'll have a tough time covering you from back here.

Luke: Well, we'll just turn back if it gets hairy.

Y/n: No we won't.

Luke and Alvin look at me.

Y/n: You seem to forget that I'm far from an average kid. If things get bad, I'll handle it. Or at least try to without scorching Luke.

Luke: Why'd you have to add in the last part?

Y/n: Because Clem knows the perfect distance to stand away from me and you don't. You're more likely to walk into the line of fire.

Clementine: (Nods) Yeah.

Luke: Hey, I'll be fine, I'm the adult here. I know what I'm doing.

We both stare at him for a minute and he rubs the back of his head.

Luke: I'll try not to get burned...

Before either of us can speak again, Carlos speaks up with his arms crossed. Looks like he's about to try and play the dad role, except we're not eight and he's not Lee. People like him are...annoying to say the least.

Carlos: They should stay here. They're...

Luke: They're what?

Carlos: They're just little kids, Luke.

Luke: They're valuable little kids. I mean, hell, if he can sew up her arm and she can take it, I'm sure they're fit to cross a bridge.

I see Clementine cross her arms as she stares at Carlos with an annoyed look covering her face.

Clementine: You're not our dad, Carlos.

Carlos: And you are lucky you're not my kids.

Clementine: Thank god.
