3rd Pov.

Clementine wakes up in the RV next to Lee and Y/n. She looks around for a moment confused.

Clementine: Where am I...?

Lee: It's just a bad dream, sweet pea. What was it about? Duck?

Clementine lays up.

Clementine: He's bit...

Lee: We don't know how this works yet. Maybe it's like a cold. His mom's a doctor. Maybe she can help him. When I was a kid, I never got sick, but my brother always had something. I always thought he was faking it.

Clementine looks down.

Clementine: It's not like a cold.

Lee: No... it's probably not.

She looks back up again at Lee.

Clementine: I feel bad.

Lee: Why?

Clementine: I called him a crybaby, when I hid the bug in his pillow.

Lee: Oh, that's okay, honey. You didn't mean it.

Clementine: Lee...

Lee: Hmm?

She turns her head to face Lee and asks him a question.

Clementine: Why did Lilly do try to do that to Carley?

Lee: I don't know. She was sad, Clem. That can make people angry sometimes.

Clementine: Have you ever been that angry?

Lee: Once.

Clementine: Like Y/n was when he killed Andy?

Lee: Yes.

Clementine looks at Y/n and remembers the farm where he'd killed Andy St.John by scorching him to death with a fire fist that burned down their farm house. But she just shakes her head, a memory she doesn't like to recall. The anger he had etched on his face that day when he struck down Andy.

Lee: Clem, people don't always make sense.

Clementine: How come?

Lee: 'Cause bad things happen to everyone. And it's hard to keep being yourself after they do. Do you think we should've let Lilly stay?

Clementine shakes her head. Despite her age, she did understand that what Lilly tried to do was wrong and that she was danger to the group.

Clementine: I don't think so.

Lee: I don't know. It wasn't easy. I don't know if we did the right thing.

Clementine: How can you tell?

Lee sighs.

Lee: Well, it's not like math, Clem. Sometimes there just isn't a right answer.

Clementine: I hate math.

Lee: (Chuckles) Me too, sweet pea. Yeah, but part of growing up is doing what's best for the people you care about...even if sometimes that means hurting someone else.

Clementine thinks about what's happened and what will happen.

Clementine: I don't want to hurt anyone.

Lee: It's not that easy.

Clementine: I'm scared, Lee.

Lee: What can I tell you to make it better?

Clementine starts to tear up.

Clementine: That you won't leave me.

Lee: Oh, I wouldn't do that. I promise. Everything's gonna be alright.
