Wow. Hey. It's been a while. Putting this out here now for a lot of my readers, but this message will also be on my message board via my profile. I've been on quite the hiatus on all my works, simply because I have been so incredibly burnt out with my life. I went through a really abusive relationship and we ended things in May, I've moved houses, and got a job, just life has been pretty rough for me recently. I want to say I'm back, but I'm not sure yet. I guess we'll see next time I update.

As for why I'm here specifically, I promised if the book got to 500K reads I'd post an old chapter from when I originally started working on the book from my old wattpad account in 2020. Yikes, it's cringy and bad and YIKES. But that's why I'm posting it! If you don't remember, initially I had this super weird plot where Y/N lived with her Aunt (who I named Kate for no real reason) so you will hear that a lot in this little excerpt.

I might post another old chapter if this does well and you guys enjoy making fun of 2020-me's writing. Let's just see how this goes, I feel very strange being back in this book since I finished it. It feels like a sacred place I shouldn't step foot in lmfao.

That being said, put your hands together for the ORIGINAL PROLOGUE of "You Jerk..." made in 2020. Excuse grammar errors and flat-out cringe, this is for your sick enjoyment. And please, feel free to make fun of my writing in the comments. Also you can notice how similar the original prologue is to the one I wrote officially, it's kinda neat I suppose.

Buildings, trees, people. That's all Y/N seen passing by looking through her window. The car went at a steady pace as Aunt Kate drove never taking her eyes off the road.

Y/N was listening to her favorite song resting her chin in her hand, she was nervous. Moving always is kinda scary. But this town was bigger then the last one she lived in.

Her Aunt got a better job in this town, which is why they moved in the first place.

She was nervous about the whole move, she was gonna be the new kid, and that absolutely sucks, all her friends were now a few states away, so no more hanging out in person.

But she decided to suck it up and not complain, all the keep Aunt Kate happy, she was so pumped about this job, she couldn't complain if she was happy, that's all she wants.

Her aunt took her in when she was a little girl, her parents lost custody of her because they had a bad criminal record, Y/N doesn't even remember her parents that well, she has a photo album of her and them, but she never looks at it. She has looked through it, but not often.

Kate is more important to her, they were close.

The car turned on their new home street, pulling into the driveway of the new house. One large crack split the pavement of the driveway, some weeds were growing through the cracks

The house was nice, nicer than the old one for sure

The car parked and Aunt Kate took the keys out.
"Well Y/N, we're home." Kate sighed, she was tired from the trip, they've been in the car for hours
Y/N took out an ear bud
"This is it?"
"Yes, this is it."
"Wow...it's kinda cool" Y/N said putting her phone up

"I told you so..." Kate said opening her door
"Yeah yeah" Y/N rolled her eyes getting out of the car too

She looked around, the first house that caught her eye was light purple. It was right across from hers. It was a little bigger than hers, a black car was parked in the drive way. The mailbox read
"4012, Aftons"

Next to that one was a white painted house with a red door and brick porch
"4013, Clevelands"

Across the road, which would be next to Y/N's new house was a tan house, two stories, bigger than the other ones
"4019, Morgans"

Y/N opened the back door of the car getting her backpack out along with three suitcases. She slung the backpack on her back and handled the suitcases.
Kate got out one suitcase of her own and went to unlock the door for Y/N

As they entered the house boxes upon boxes were scattered from the moving truck that came before them. Their spare key laying on the counter.

"Oh it smells good in here" Kate gushed putting down her suitcase, it smelled new in the house, fresh and clean
"Yeah it does" Y/N mumbles quietly
Kate smiled as she ruffled her hair "I'm going to go get my other bags, go pick out your room"

She went down the hall and looked into the empty rooms, she looked around until she settled for one she liked

The only thing left in the room was a bunch of hangers on the closet rack

She unzipped her backpack and got her clothes out. An old dusty box of more hangers was in the closet. Weird. The family that lived here before owned a lot of hangers I guess

Shaking her head she hung up another shirt.
The floor was cold, no furniture to sit on yet. It felt so weird, this was gonna be her room from now on

"Y/N, come here please!" Kate called making her jump, what could she want?

"Comin'." She grunted standing up and dusting off her pants. She maneuvered her way through boxes Turning the corner she sees her Aunt Kate and 5 stranger standing there with her making her widen her eyes

"Y/N these are our new neighbors, the Aftons." Kate said kindly, a plate of cookies on the counter. They probably brought them.

"Yo..." she said looking the family over

The Tall Man with brown hair graying at the roots stood tall, taller than Kate or the women he was standing with, which was his wife

She had blonde hair and looking at the little girl next to her, they look identical. She was just smaller around age 8 or 9 even, they had the same green eyes and everything

A boy a bit smaller than the rest looked just like the tall man, but youthful, his eyes were puffy, as if he was crying before. But when Y/N looked over at the final boy, she saw he looked like the other guys in his family, why do they all look alike?

He has the same blue eyes, tall frame, wavy brown hair as his dad. He was a little taller than Y/N, but other than that, he looked her age. He wasn't bad looking to be honest.

"Why hello. We've heard all about you" the women spoke in a British accent

"Oh uh, oh boy, what'd you hear?" Y/N laughed slightly

"Nothing bad love, all good things." The man smiled

"We heard you're going into 9th grade, high school, that's fun. Michael here is too" Mrs.Afton said looking at her son lovingly

Michael, his name is Michael
