I stood on the side of the stage watching his stupid smile; passionately singing in the way he always did. I can't believe he came to my door. To my dressing room. That he thought after all this time we could just erase the past. Time heals wounds and I was definitely over him but I don't make the same mistakes twice. I should leave but it's too late he's already noticed me. I can see the faint smirk forming on his lips as his eyes faintly trail down my figure. I hope no one notices. I can feel my cheeks turning red in embarrassment as he continues along through the chorus shooting me a faint wink. I nearly gasp. I feel a numbness in every muscle and turn swiftly around disappearing behind the curtain. I slowed my heavy breathing and was prepared to go back out and face him until I heard his voice addressing the crowd.
"We'd like to thank the wonderful hosts of Victoria Secret for having us tonight and all the beautiful girls that have performed tonight. This is our last song."
I peered through the curtain as the lights dimmed too a soft blue and the music switched into a soft melody

Goin' out tonight, changes into something red
Her mother doesn't like that kind of dress
Everything she never had she's showin' off

(Suddenly flash backs came through my mind. It was the night of my 17th birthday. The red dress I wore and how my mother reminded me I was too young to be wearing such adult clothing.)

Drivin' too fast, moon is breakin' through her hair
She's headin' for somethin' that she won't forget
Havin' no regrets is all that she really wants
We're only gettin' older, baby
And I've been thinkin' about it lately
Does it ever drive you crazy
Just how fast the night changes?
Everything that you've ever dreamed of
Disappearing when you wake up
But there's nothing to be afraid of
Even when the night changes
It will never change me and you
Chasing it tonight, doubts are runnin' 'round her head
He's waitin', hides behind a cigarette

(I don't know if he smokes anymore. He used to do it whenever he was nervous about something.)

Heart is beatin' loud and she doesn't want it to stop
Movin' too fast, moon is lightin' up her skin
She's fallin', doesn't even know it yet

(We walked in a park that night over a moonlit bridge. I thought I was in love with him.)

Havin' no regrets is all that she really wants
(I told myself I would never give myself up to just anyone that I wasn't going to be a one night stand.)

We're only gettin' older, baby
And I've been thinkin' about it lately
Does it ever drive you crazy
Just how fast the night changes?
Everything that you've ever dreamed of
Disappearing when you wake up

(Now everything is messed up. I wish he had been gone when I woke up.)

But there's nothing to be afraid of
Even when the night changes
It will never change me and you
Goin' out tonight, changes into something red
Her mother doesn't like that kind of dress
(Guess I should have listened to her and everyone that doubted the idea of him loving me.)

Reminds her of the missin' piece of innocence she lost
(I was nothing but a notch to him. Just a trophy that wasn't good enough to be displayed anymore.)

We're only gettin' older, baby
And I've been thinkin' about it lately
Does it ever drive you crazy

(I used to be so crazy for him.)

Just how fast the night changes?
Everything that you've ever dreamed of
Disappearing when you wake up
But there's nothing to be afraid of
