A Way To Help

Currently, my guilt weighed heavily on me, making it hard to concentrate. I paced around my room, feeling responsible for the situation I'd inadvertently created.

"Man, if I'd only known sooner," I muttered to myself, unable to shake off the weight of my guilt.

My bedroom door creaked open, and my sister stumbled in, looking sleepy and disheveled. "Kyo-chan," she yawned, "Why didn't you wake me up?"

I watched her with a sigh, "Nee-chan... Could you at least fix your pajamas?"

She lazily scratched her head, "Eh? I'm too lazy for that."

I sighed again. "Never mind that. Why are you here?"

"I'm heading to a part-time job tonight... Would you like to join me?"

"Part-time? You?" I exclaimed in surprise. My mind raced, imagining my sister taking on some risky, late-night job.

Curiosity piqued, I asked, "Um, what's the job if you don't mind me asking?"

This time, with a small smirk, she replied, "Well, I'm going to work at a bakery tonight."

"A bakery? Seriously?"

She grinned, "Yeah! I can bring home some fresh bread for breakfast too."

It sounded like a decent plan, and after my earlier concerns, the idea of fresh bakery goods made me feel a bit better.

I suddenly connected the dots, and a grin spread across my face. "Onee-chan!"

She looked puzzled. "Yes? Kyo-chan?"

"You're a genius!!"

She blinked. "Eh? What did I do?"

I chuckled, "Don't worry. You just gave me an idea. Thanks, Onee-chan!" I immediately grabbed my phone from my pocket and started typing on it.

Onee-chan took a peek at my phone for a moment. "Hm? What are you doing? Don't tell me you have a girlfriend!"

I paused and gave her a blank stare, saying, "Onee-chan, jokes are meant to make people laugh, not to make them mad."

"Ah, sorry."

"I was just texting Yamabuki-san."

"Oh? The bread girl?"

"That's right."

"Ohh~ Well then, I'll go prepare myself now. Have fun!" She then walked out of my room, and I could hear her footsteps descending the stairs.

This should set things up!

Setting up for work, I sat down at my PC and began editing some music. The notes flowed as I fine-tuned the tracks, aiming for the best possible sound.

A day later, I took charge of opening the CirCLE for the day, covering for Marina-san while she was away.

As I settled in behind the reception desk, I couldn't help but fiddle with my phone. I decided to listen to one of Afterglow's songs, "Kyouen Red x Violet."

"Kyouen Red x Violet" is a track by Roselia and Afterglow, and it immediately caught my attention. The drummer initiated the song's rhythm, skillfully setting the tone, followed by the guitar providing a strong foundation.

It was clear that the vocal performances were exceptional, as one would expect from their rival bands, Roselia and Afterglow.

Ran's voice, deep and robust, beautifully complemented the music. It added a layer of richness and power to the song. In contrast, Yukina's vocals were strikingly strong, delivering an intense, dynamic performance.

I couldn't help but sense the hardworking essence in Ran's singing, while Yukina's voice conveyed an unwavering determination for excellence.

Both vocalists exuded a strong aura in their performances, and it was evident that their distinct voices played a defining role in shaping the unique sounds of their respective bands.

As I continued to listen to "Kyouen Red x Violet," I noticed Yamabuki entering the CirCLE. She was carrying two paper bags.

"Good morning, Yamabuki-san," I greeted her with a smile.

"Good morning, Nakasone-kun," she replied, looking around. "Are you alone? Where's Marina-san?"

"Marina-san is currently away right now."

Yamabuki nodded and placed the two paper bags on the reception desk. "Here are your bags of choco coronet."

I couldn't help but notice the fresh aroma of the choco coronets. "Oh, these smell freshly baked."

Yamabuki raised an eyebrow, "Are you planning to eat all of them yourself?"

"Of course not! I'm giving them to someone."

As we chatted, a group of familiar figures entered the CirCLE. Ran, the lead vocalist of Afterglow, approached us.

"Marin- Oh, it's you today," Ran said as she walked closer.

"Hey, Afterglow! Early practicing?" Yamabuki greeted them cheerfully.

Moca, in her usual playful manner, chimed in, "Yep, Ran's on fire today!"

I separated one of the paper bags and handed it to Moca. "Here you go, take this."

Moca's eyes sparkled with delight, and she couldn't hide her excitement. "Choco coronet?

Uwah... How did she know?!

I separated one of the paper bags and handed it to Moca. "Here you go, take this, you guys need some rest from time to time too."

Moca immediately takes the paper bag.

"Is it really okay for us to take it?" Himari said with a slight concern.

"It's alright. Practicing may be good, but overdoing it is too much. So, as a staff of CirCLE, it's on the house."

"Ohhh~" Tomoe, Tsugumi, and Yamabuki suddenly clapped.

"Nice speech~," Moca said as she munched on the bread already.

"Moca, eat after practice... Didn't you already have your breakfast?" Ran said while watching Moca eat the choco coronet.

"Tsk Tsk Tsk, Ran... You shouldn't underestimate my stomach." She said with a smug grin.

I couldn't help but smile at Moca's enthusiasm. "I knew you'd appreciate them, Moca. They're freshly baked."

As Moca took another choco coronet, I noticed her playfulness come to life. She cheekily added, "Thank you, God..."

Eh? What do you mean?

"Anyway, thank you, Nakasone. We'll be on our way to the studio now," Ran said as she took the lead.

"Yeah," I replied.

The group then proceeded to walk as they waved me off.

Yamabuki and I also waved back, but then she noticed the time on the wall clock, "Oh, the time! I gotta go now, Nakasone-kun. See you later!"

"Yeah," I replied.

Yamabuki left the CirCLE, leaving me alone.

"It's just me now."

Later on, I decided to get ready for their refreshments later.
