Third Person POV

A heavy silence fell between them. Gon's heartbeat thundered in his ears, but he refused to look away from the mark on Seraphina's tongue.

'Number Two...!' The implications twisted like a vice in his gut.

The Elite-10 were ranked. That much he knew. And if she was No.2, it meant only one thing—she was second only to the strongest among them. The gap in power was likely immeasurable.

Seraphina let her tongue slide back into her mouth, her smirk widening as she watched realization dawn on Gon's face

Seraphina let her tongue slide back into her mouth, her smirk widening as she watched realization dawn on Gon's face. "Oh? You recognize it?" tapping her chin with feigned innocence. "That makes this even more fun."

Gon's jaw tightened. He had faced monsters before. He had fought beings stronger and faster than him. But something about Seraphina set off every alarm in his instincts.

She wasn't just strong.

She was playing with him.

Seraphina took a lazy step forward. Her presence pressed against his like a suffocating wave. The wooden walls of the hut trembled as her aura expanded, snuffing out the space between them like an encroaching tide.

"So?" she whispered, her tone almost teasing. "What's your next move, Pro Hunter?"

"What's your next move, Pro Hunter?"

Gon didn't answer. He couldn't afford to waste a single breath. 'I need to protect Rin.' His body reacted before his mind could catch up—his feet dug into the floor and in a burst of raw power, he lunged forward.

Seraphina's grin split wider. 'He took the bait.'

With barely any effort, she tilted her head evading his strike by a hair's breadth. The sheer force of his punch sent a shockwave through the hut, splintering the wood behind her.

She didn't even flinch.

Before Gon could recover, she twisted at an impossible speed, her knee slamming into his stomach with devastating precision.

POWWW!!!!

CRACK.

"Gahh" A burst of saliva flew from Gon's mouth as the impact sent him crashing through the hut's wall. The structure exploded outward in a rain of shattered wood and dust. His body carved a trench into the dirt outside. For a moment, there was nothing but the sound of the wind whistling through the broken remains of the hut.
