Third Person POV

The night draped the hotel in a shroud of silence the only sounds being the faint rustle of the wind against the shoji doors and the distant murmur of cicadas. Two figures cloaked in black moved like wraiths through the dimly lit corridors, their footsteps light as falling petals. Shadows clung to them as their presence barely a whisper in the still air as they advanced toward their target's room.

Sliding the door open with practiced ease, they slipped inside, sharp eyes scanning the space. The remnants of a meal lay upon the lacquered table—bowls stacked neatly, dishes cleared, save for the lone porcelain cup that sat empty among them. One of the figures reached for it, her gloved fingers brushing the rim as a slow satisfied exhale escaped her.

"It worked," she murmured, voice barely above a breath. "The aphrodisiac is the strongest we had in Yoshiwara. Even the Zoldycks would fall to it."

The other woman crouched near the table, inspecting the setting with scrutiny. "The Hyakka hired a scientist just to perfect it," she replied.

"Tonight, he won't be able to resist."

Their gazes turned toward the futon in the corner, the covers rumpled, the mattress slightly disturbed. A pile of discarded clothing lay nearby—a sign, they believed, of the drug's effect taking hold. Their victory was within reach.

Moving with coordinated precision, one reached for the blanket, ready to subdue the figure beneath.

But before her fingers could so much as brush the fabric, a shift in the air sent a shiver down her spine. The dim room suddenly seemed suffocating, the silence stretching too thin, too expectant.

THWACK!

Then—nothing, as darkness swallowed them whole.

A sharp sting jolted them back to consciousness. The darkness that had consumed them moments ago had lifted replaced by the flickering glow of paper lanterns. The air was thick with the scent of tatami and night-blooming jasmine but something far heavier loomed in the space.

Their bodies ached and their limbs sluggish, but as their vision cleared, a chilling sight awaited them—two figures standing before them with arms crossed watching with an air of unimpressed amusement.

Killua Zoldyck.

And beside him, a girl with cold, piercing blue eyes.

The captured women stiffened, their minds scrambling for an explanation. The drug. The aphrodisiac they had slipped into the tea. It was supposed to keep them unconscious until morning! 'How—?'

Killua's glare was like ice cutting through their confusion. "You thought something like that would work on us?" His voice was quiet, but the weight behind it sent shivers down their spines. "How stupid do you think I am?"

'It did work on you, though,' Tress thought with a sweatdrop.

The second woman clenched her fists, unable to mask her disbelief. "Impossible..." she whispered.

Tress tilted her head slightly, her arms still folded as she stared down at them. "You thought we walked right into your trap," she murmured, her tone devoid of emotion. "But the truth is, you walked right into ours."

"...!" A flicker of realization crossed their faces. This wasn't just a countermeasure—Killua and Tress had used their own scheme against them.

Tress took a step forward, the lantern light catching the sharpness in her gaze. "It saves us time," she continued. "We've been looking for the Hyakka. Specifically, your Boss."
