Third Person POV
Killua tightened the strap of his wristband as his silver hair caught the dim overhead light of Capsule Corp's hallway. The atmosphere was strangely calm despite the weight of their next destination—Yoshiwara. He glanced back at Alan, who stood beside Alluka who finally awoke just that morning. His sister clung to Alan's sleeve, her wide blue eyes filled with unspoken questions.
"Take care of her," Killua said, his voice firm but not unkind.
Alan gave him a half-smile before placing a reassuring hand on Alluka's head. "You got it. I'll look after her, don't worry."
Killua nodded as he was satisfied for now. Then, he turned toward Tress who adjusted her gloves with a casual air. It was the same easy confidence she always carried. If he hadn't seen her break down the night before, he never would've suspected a thing. But that was Tress—always quick to rebuild her walls, always pretending nothing had ever cracked them in the first place.
It didn't bother him. Not really. He had long accepted that this was just who she was.
Boxer leaned against the wall with his arms crossed watching them with an amused smirk. "Well, damn. Never thought I'd see you again, you've grown since the last time I saw you," he said, his gaze flickering between Killua and Tress. "And coming here with her, no less. What an odd pair."
Killua ignored the comment but Boxer wasn't finished. His smirk faded slightly, his voice lowering as he added, "Be careful."
Killua frowned. "Of what?"
"Of her." Boxer's eyes darkened. "Unless you want what happened five years ago to happen again."
A vein twitched on Killua's forehead. He knew exactly what Boxer was getting at. Five years ago, Rin had died—or at least, that's what everyone believed. Boxer himself had arranged the funeral. It was the last time they had seen each other. But Rin was alive. Boxer would know that better than anyone. Because he had been the one to give Gon the Dragon Radar, the very thing that had led them to her after all those years apart.
And yet, here Boxer was, playing dumb.
Killua scoffed, the tension between them thick as smoke. His piercing gaze shot up at Boxer, eyes sharp and unrelenting.
"You're one to talk," he muttered, voice laced with quiet venom.
Boxer raised an eyebrow, but Killua didn't give him the chance to respond.
"Rin didn't die." Killua's words cut through the air like a blade. "You, of all people, should know that. And yet, you kept it a secret... from us."
Boxer's smirk faltered for a fraction of a second. He hadn't expected that level of intensity from the Killua he once knew. The boy had grown—not just in stature, but in sheer presence. There was a menace in him now, a dangerous edge that wasn't there five years ago.
Then, Boxer chuckled before running a hand through his lavender hair. "That wasn't under my control," he said with a sigh. "I was just following orders."
Killua's eyes narrowed. His suspicion deepened. "From who?"
Boxer's expression darkened slightly before he shrugged. "Son Gozen."
"...!" Killua stiffened.
Boxer exhaled. "That old man entrusted his precious granddaughter to you and Gon... and you guys failed to protect her. You both let her die." His voice was almost mocking, but there was an underlying weight to it.
"...!" Killua felt something cold settle in his gut.
"It's not my fault you lost the old man's trust," Boxer smirked, but Killua wasn't amused.
