Some people don't know what they have until it's gone.
But what about the ones who do know?
The ones who never took a damn thing for granted? Who tried their hardest to hold on, yet could only look helplessly...

The dimly lit tunnels of Yoshiwara trembled as the battle raged. Dust and debris were raining from the ceiling with every devastating impact. The air was thick with tension laced with the metallic scent of blood and scorched stone. Shadows slithered along the damp walls like living creatures responding to Noveno's every movement. But against Tress's overwhelming power, even the darkness seemed to shrink.
Tress stood amidst the wreckage, her body crackling with an ominous red glow. Her sheer intensity distorted the very space around her as heat waves rippled through the underground. Her breaths were steady, but her blazing eyes never left Noveno's form.
Noveno wiped a streak of blood from his mouth. His shadows pulsed and twisted forming monstrous shapes that lunged at Tress from every angle. Clawed hands reached out to drag her into the abyss, but she moved like a force of nature. With a single swing of her arm, a shockwave of raw energy erupted from her body, obliterating the creatures in an instant.
BOOOOMMMMM!!!
"You're slipping, Noveno," she taunted, stepping forward as the ground beneath her cracked from the sheer force of her presence. "Is that all you've got?"
Noveno's eyes darkened. Without a word, he flicked his fingers and the shadows beneath him thickened swallowing him whole. Tress narrowed her eyes, scanning the darkened chamber—then instinct kicked in.
Behind you.
She twisted just in time. Noveno burst from the ceiling like a phantom, his blade-like shadows slicing through the air, aiming for her throat. Tress raised her arm, her On energy flaring violently. The moment the shadow struck, it shattered against her aura like fragile glass.
Noveno barely landed before Tress was upon him. Her fist, wreathed in red flames, slammed into his gut with the force of a meteor.
POWWWWW!!!!
"...!" Noveno's breath left him in a choked gasp as he was sent hurtling backward, crashing through a series of crumbling pillars.
He groaned, dragging himself up from the rubble. The darkness swarmed around him, trying to pull him back into its embrace, but it was wavering—his control slipping under the sheer pressure of Tress's relentless assault.
Tress rolled her shoulders, the red energy around her surging like an untamed inferno. "You always talked big," she said, stalking toward him.
Noveno coughed, but despite the pain, that damned smirk returned to his lips. His eyes gleamed with something dangerous.
"Maybe..." he rasped, his fingers curling into the shadows. "But did you really think you could burn away the past, Tress?" Noveno's voice echoed from the darkness. "Let's see if you can burn what you can't even touch."
The creatures lunged.
Tress met them head-on.
With a single stomp, she sent a fiery eruption blasting outward, consuming everything in her path. The underground was ablaze, her energy turning the battlefield into an inferno. But the shadows didn't burn—they twisted, reformed, and struck from every direction.
