Third Person POV

The inn had become a battlefield.

Wood splintered. Walls cracked. Pulsing vines burst through every crevice—like the building itself had turned against them. The floorboards groaned beneath the weight of the unnatural growth, roots twisting through the foundation with ruthless intent.

Killua moved like lightning—literally. Every slash of his hand discharged arcs of electricity that scorched the creeping tendrils to ash. But there were too many. For every one he destroyed, three more slithered in its place.

His breaths were shallow, sharp. Sweat clung to his brow, not from exhaustion—but panic.

'Alluka.'

She was asleep in the back room. Helpless. Alone.

His gaze flicked toward the hallway—only for a mass of vines to erupt in front of the door, sealing it off like a barricade.

"No—!" he shouted, lunging toward it. A thick, writhing root lashed out, aiming for his chest. He ducked low, spun, and sliced through it in one motion, his boots skidding against the now-overgrown floor.

He had to get to her. He had to—

But a shout snapped him back.

"Killua, watch it!"

Gon's voice was hoarse with strain. The boy's hands were already glowing, fingers clenched tight as he fired a blast of pure aura into the ceiling. The explosion tore through a bundle of vines that had been descending toward Killua's back like serpents from above.

Rin, meanwhile, was a whirlwind of aura. Her energy flared wildly as she twisted, punched, and kicked at the swarming roots with explosive force. But they were adapting. For every tendril she incinerated, more grew back, thicker and stronger, some now coated in a glossy sheen like armor.

"Are they regenerating?!" she snarled, spinning and blasting a vine that had begun to curl around her ankle.

"They're not plants anymore," Gon said grimly, shielding his eyes from the sparks. "They're being controlled."

Killua ground his teeth as he unleashed another bolt of electricity, frying a cluster trying to reach the ceiling.

'The E-10.'

This had their twisted fingerprints all over it.

And that meant... 'Tress.'

His heart thudded painfully in his chest. 'Where are you?'

He could barely focus. Every instinct screamed at him to run to Alluka's room. To tear through the vines. To make sure she was still breathing, still safe. But he couldn't leave Gon and Rin. Not like this.

A shriek cut through the chaos—Rin's. A vine had snaked around her wrist, glowing with an eerie blue pulse. Another followed, latching to her thigh. It was draining her aura.

"Rin!" Gon shouted, bolting toward her. His hands flared again, slamming into the vines with a brutal wave of Nen. The roots hissed and cracked, but they didn't release her easily. Rin staggered, breathing heavily, teeth clenched in fury and panic.

"I'm—fine," she snapped, trying to rip her arm free. "Just—get them off!"

Killua narrowed his eyes, aura roaring around him as lightning surged again, stronger this time, wilder. He leapt forward, a blur of sparks and rage, slicing clean through the vines entangling Rin. The shockwave knocked them both back, but she landed on her feet, panting, free again.
