I watched from my bedroom window as he grasped her petite wrist in his huge hands squeezing till she cried. He started to shout at her again until she pushed him away. I watched as he hit her repeatedly, screaming in her face and there was no one to save her.

The anger raising in him as he pushed her against the wall hitting her. He shouted at her again and left. She fell to the floor her knees held tightly to her chest as she sobbed hysterically. She was so fragile, so broken.

I headed to my phone and picked it up debating on whether to call her or not. I grasped my phone and returned back to my seat. I looked over again and she was still the crying in the same spot. I sighed. She looked over and wiped her eyes flashing me a weak, broken smile. I smiled back and she got up and disappeared.

I wanted to hug her, hold her, wrap my arms around her when she's scared. But I can't. I can't because she's not mine. She would never see me as that, I'm just the boy from next door.
