This is such a big and joy bringing part of my life, you all are so wonderful and I'm so happy to get all these supporting comments and votes and reads. I want to do something special for you all in honor of this occasion. I'm thinking of starting a fanfic or preference book. What do you guys suggest?)

Grace couldn't help but love her best friend's hair. She could always spot him in a crowd, but she could always tell how he felt. A curse or a miracle it was, she couldn't tell which. As long as he couldn't read her emotions so well she was okay. The only things left to betray her growing crush on him was the beating of her blood in her head and the dryness of her lips from nervously biting them so much. He never thought much of such things, luckily for her they were just 'things Grace did' in his mind. He could control his hair if he focused, she knew that, but in overwhelming or sudden moments of emotion it was harder. He hated that part, it betrayed him often, but only in small moments that made awkward interactions.

January 29th, a Friday to a Hogsmeade weekend. The classroom was abuzz with talk, both of the worksheet Professor Longbottom assigned and the plans of parties. Teddy's hair was especially bright and yellow, both of Hufflepuff colors and the happiness he felt. Grace couldn't help but roll her eyes and laugh as he was almost about to hop from his stool. Hogsmeade wasn't that important to him, though he did love to take girls on dates there. This weekend had only dates with enchanted mineral planned. A wizard chess tournament. Teddy went to all of them, and typically won against the dozen others who attended. Grace attended, but only to watch him, and typically it was only a half attentive glance over the edge of a book

The bell finally rang and if not for her, he would have whizzed out of the room faster than his relative Ronald Weasley from a room of spiders. She sauntered slowly from the room, trying to hold back giggles from the hateful glances he then at her. Five minutes of walking and they weren't even through the courtyard and to the castle, much to his dismay.  He eventually ran ahead of her, leaving her to quietly walk with a book open in her hands to read. It wasn't of any use, she saw him again in the Hufflepuff common room. He had changed clothing, grabbed the bag of chess pieces and a board he had packed earlier that morning, and sat backwards on the couch, facing the door and waiting for her.

"The tournament isn't until Sunday," She said with a sigh and started towards the stairs to her dormitory. "You always overexcite yourself."

Another sigh came from further up the staircase where Grace disappeared to, accompanied by laughs and comments like, "He does it to bother you." "Is Lupin it again?" "That boy and his obsession with that silly game."

There was the closing of doors and he knew they'd left, but if they'd left to the same room or were speaking about him he could not tell. He desperately wanted to know, but he more desperately wanted the tournament to be closer. For once women weren't his top priority. He never thought of himself as a player, though many called him that. He slept through the entire night, and when he woke again he used a strong spell to put himself back again. He was only woken by a bitter yet numb feeling in his eyes. He opened them to see blurry light and color. As the spell wore off completely he felt iced stinging on his face with the addition of a red hot stinging on his cheek that he knew came from a slap.

"You bloody grimy fool," Grace cursed as her wand stopped emitting water and she stepped out of his sight to grab a fresh shirt. "Get changed and get downstairs. The tournament is in the hour."

Teddy scrambled from his bed and rushed to change, not fully processing her presence.

"Hey," She yelled out suddenly and turned to shield her eyes from the side. "Have some decency."

"I don't have a spec of it," He said, trying to replace the awkwardness. He quickly put the shirt on and collected his bag.

When she realized he was fully dressed she turned back around to go back through the door. She stopped and awkwardly looked at Teddy, mainly his hair. Her anger fell away but she tried to keep herself composed.

"I'm going to spend the day with my friends," She said suddenly. "Good luck. And be sure to fix your hair before leaving."

The door closed behind her, the mirror hung on the back of it turning to Teddy. His hair, instead of it's normal blue, was an olden grey topped with bright pink. His emotions, out of control, had invaded his hair. Grey of nervousness and pink of love. His roommate snickered under his breath, but he couldn't care less. He opened the door again and grabbed her by the arm before she could make it to the stairs.

"You can't just do that," He said, dragging her back into the room and kicking his roommate out.
"I need to cool off and think about things, I think you do too." She wouldn't make eye contact with him.
"I've thought through this plenty," He said, dramatically grabbing her shoulders and leaning down to make eye contact with her even as she stared down. "I think about it more often than you think. You make me want to be a better man."

Teddy was a huge movie freak, Grace knew that. He'd made her watch an old movie from the 90s called As Good as It Gets. She'd hated it. But now as he quoted it, she felt a strange fondness for the cheesy quote and couldn't help but smile. "You're stupid," She said finally and his eyes dropped in sadness a bit. "I hated that movie. Don't make me like it just 'cause I like you." She bit her lip and hugged him suddenly. He hugged back immediately and ended up picking her off the ground because she was so much shorter.

"Does this mean I can take you to the movies for dates?" He asked with a goofy smile on his face.
"Only if I can take you on trips with my friends."
He scoffed. "My ears would explode with all the noise you make."
"My eyes will pop out of my head if you make me watch another movie couple kissing."
"I only made you watch one movie."
"It only takes one to kill you," She pulled away from the hug and with a grin turned to the door. "Just like I'll kill you if you speak a lick of anything you heard here." She said to Teddy's roommate who stood on the other side of the door, his ear pressed to it. He whimpered jokingly but after prodding from Teddy he left.
"He never does change," She said cockily.
"You just heard him laughing."
"I'm literally magic."
"So are Disney movies."
"Nope," She said and ran out the room.
