(A/N: Two updates in a week! I'm pretty proud of myself, if I say so myself. All cockiness aside, I really enjoyed writing this oneshot. I'm never written or read a Percy Weasley oneshot before and I'm happy it was requested. I really enjoy this entire book! I love writing in general, but all the positive feedback and ideas and requests I get from you guys makes it so much better. I hope you guys keep enjoying my series, and I know I will always enjoy you reading, commenting, voting, and/or requesting on my stories. :-) You guys are awesome!)
Sophie sighed and settled against the couch. She tried to avoid eye contact with her daughter sitting in the armchair across from her, knowing that it would be awkward. Even after years of raising children and being a adult and living in the muggle world doing tough things like taxes, she still could not handle awkward things. She fiddled with her skirt nervously and waited as patiently as she could. From above came what seemed like an angel, handing her a warm mug and gracefully swooping into the room and sitting on the couch next to Sophie. Percy had no trouble making eye contact with their daughter. He smiled harmlessly and settled his arm about Sophie's shoulders. Even after all these years, she still felt a little spark of nerves and love deep in her mind sending a shiver across her skin. She shook the feelings from her head and looked seriously at her daughter, Lucy, who was obviously preferring the warm expression of her dad.
"There are some things-" Percy began.
"Rumors," Sophie added with a grin, but it obviously wasn't helping in the way she wanted it to.
"Rumors," Percy accepted the word, but it obviously wasn't fitting the plan he had for how this conversation would go. "About you and some young boy."
"Is it from Skeeter?" Lucy said from her curled position in the armchair, looking repulsed. "You can't believe a word she says!"
Sophie laughed. "We know plenty about Miss Skeeter."
Percy laughed awkwardly.
"What is it then?" Lucy sunk further in her chair. Sophie could see all the idea flying in her mind, behind her pale green eyes, but she was too scared of speaking out of turn to mention any of them. That, or it was something bad she didn't want to admit to doing until her parents brought it up.
"The Longbottom kid, you know him yes?" Percy asked. Sophie eyed him suspiciously, he kept dancing around the subject. There was a giddy gleam in his eyes, and Sophie expected a long story soon. She shifted to sit comfortably, and sipped at the liquid in her mug.
"Yeah," Lucy spoke slowly, just as suspicious of her dad as her mom was.
"I've been hearing that you and him are..." Percy flushed. This was not his area of expertise.
"Dancing the hanky panky," Sophie said, but couldn't manage a straight face long enough to see her child's disgusted expression.
"What your mother means is," Another area that Percy knew little about, and he knew he wasn't going to get any help from his wife who continued in a laughing fit. "We're not saying anything for sure. We just want you know you don't have to hide it if you don't want to, if there is even anything to hide. "
Lucy shrugged, finally turning her attention away from her mother. "I don't hide anything from you guys."
"I told my parents the same thing," Sophie said, starting to giggle again. She stopped when she say the serious look in her husband's eyes, but could tell he was secretly amused by her craziness. She always was, and it was one of the main things her children loved about her.
