"I cannot believe you made me do this. You know I hate public places."

M smiled. "Yeah. But you need to get over it."

Sans glared at his feet, sighing out," yah, I know. But I don't want to. Humans are awful."

M laughed. "Not all humans."

"Wha-?"

"Hey mister?"

Sans turned and looked down at the little child.
She looks like Frisk...

"I just wanna say that you look really cool."

Sans' face softened. "Oh."

The mother ran up. "Fran! Oh, I'm sorry sir, she's always-"

"No, it's fine. Hey, she's really polite."

Fran nodded. "My momma is the best!"

The mother laughed. "Hi. I'm Anne."

Sans shook her hand. "I'm Sans."

Be back later

Sans

"I don't know how he's able to draw stars this good." You mumbled. "Better get ready though."

~

"Hey JJ. Hey Fran. Frisk, how's it going?"

Frisk shrugged. "It's lonely."

You laughed. "Sorry about that. Did Sans walk you to school?"

She nodded. "I guess." She turned and walked inside.

You frowned after her. She seemed sad about something. Was it Sans moving?

~

"You avoid the school."

"I avoid the people."

You squinted at him. "You don't like people?"

He shrugged. "No, that's not it. Just... certain people that will talk about certain things that I don't like to a certain degree."

You nodded. "Hey, is Frisk okay?"

Sans face fell. "Oh. Well... she's better."

You let a silence fall.
Then cleared your throat. "Hey... I have a question."

"Hm?"

"Well.... I've heard that monsters can kind of... absorb human souls?"

Sans paused. You two had been pulling a bed to his room. "Yeah. We can."

"Well... Frisk was drawing you, and she said-"

"That I'd absorbed a soul?"

You blushed. "Yeah..."

He looked away. "It was an accident."

You blinked. "Wait, so you actually did?"

He nodded. "Yeah. I did. But it wasn't my fault."

You leaned against the bed. "What happened?"

"I fell and so did he. Did you know, Frisk was the first human to go through the Underground and survive? She helped free us."

You frowned. "But.... she'd have to be a lot older to have-"

"Well, she got down there by falling. All the children did. And... once.... after we were free... we got attacked. It was back when humans and monsters had a tense relationship going on.
Me and frisk would try and help... and it worked. But this human... he hated us. He attacked us, and I had to protect Frisk. So... as he died... he fell. And I caught him.
I was at the edge of the Underground, and I fell too. Our souls... kind of..." He trailed off.
"Frisk was screaming. She thought I'd died. But I pushed the humans body off me, and she started crying. But I changed. Like the kings son, I turned into a monster. And so I ran. Back into the Underground, where I hid."

You were staring at him. "You... killed someone.... and absorbed their soul..."

He shrugged. "That was years ago."

You nodded slowly. "So... where did you go?"

"I went back to the surface, after a friend persuaded me to. I lived on the streets. I did whatever I could for money. The human.... his soul tried to talk to me. But he gave up after awhile." Sans shrugged again. "I was a criminal. But then M found me."

You nodded. "Alright. Well, let's get this bed to your room, alright?"

He chuckled and nodded. "Let's."

~

You tilted your head, taking a bite of ramen. "So what your saying, is that monsters go into heat?"

Sans looked uncomfortable. You'd asked him about Frisk's little comment.

"He had the heats!"

"Er.... yeah. Some of us do."

"And your part of that little group."

".....Yes." He blushed.

You stared at your little bowl. "That's kinda.... hot." You said, waggling your eyebrows.

Sans just stared.

"Get it? Hot? In heat?"

"Oh!" He laughed. "Okay, okay. That's pretty funny." He rubbed his skull.

You nodded. "Your blushing."

He looked away. "It's late. I should go to sleep."
