Continuous Life

7 1 1

His bed is not made

And the lights are on,

But no one is at home.

He has been gone,

But his life has not,

Continuing steadily on.

Some lights are on.

And the tv too

While the switch is up.

The water continues to run,

In the bathroom

And onto the floor.

The dishes are left in the sink,

Broken, dirty or sticky

Releasing an awful stench.

Letters come flying at the house,

But no one's even there,

To ever open or read them.

The movie in the VCR continues to play

Just like his passing life,

Even though he is gone forever.
