Longing To Return

I know it's clear, that you're going away,

And I know that here, I'll have to stay.

Left all alone, by my shy, lonesome self,

I'll lay on my bed and stare at my shelf.

My heart broken and all my tears dried up,

My head resting still, in my hand made cup.

From your white wings, I plucked a single feather,

To remember you when, we aren't together.

For quite a while, each other's company we'll lack,

Cherishing each memory, until you get back.

In our private field of love, I will surely roam,

Until the day that you, finally come back home.

You'll come back home soon, like you said that you will,

To a long embracing hug, while time stands still.

Our vacant lips will touch, in a kiss so soft,

While our wedded hearts flutter and feel aloft.

We will reunite, as if never apart,

Happiness returning, to my once sad heart.

You'll share your stories, as we begin to lose the light,

Falling asleep in each other's arms, long into the night.
