Victory Party
Penelope's POV
The whole game consists of cheers from the crowd and an ear wrecking scream from Cara and from the girls behind us. Maddox was playing like a man in a mission, no, he was a mad man. Fear is written from who ever tried to steal the ball from him. He will always end up getting a goal, sometimes hitting the other team's goal keeper in the stomach from the force of his kicks. I feel sorry for the other team's goal keeper.
"Does he usually play like that?" Baling ko kay Cara.
"You mean, Maddox Preston? He's good in soccer but I've never seen him play like he was desperate to win. I mean he look like he's diverting all his anger to the ball." Sagot ni Cara na itinuloy ang panonood.
Napangiwi ako nang maka goal ulit si Maddox at tumama sa mukha ng goal keeper nang sipain ni Maddox ang bola. Poor guy. Ito naman ang naging resulta ng panalo nila. Kaya naman hindi magkumayaw ang sigawan ng mga tao sa paligid lalong lalo na si Cara.
"Yes! Nanalo ako sa pustahan." Sigaw niya at nagtatatalon sa sobrang tuwa kasabay ng ibang mga studyante sa loob ng arena.
I also can't hide my smile from their victory. I'm happy for them. I saw Luke running towards us with a wide grin in his face!
"We won! Did you see it, red cheeks?" Masiglang sambit ni Luke at niyakap ako sa sobrang tuwa.
"Congratulations!! Im happy for your team!" I said genuinely happy for their win and hugged him back.
"Bakit ka pala nagpagupit?" Nagtataka kong tanong sa kanya.
"Bakit? Hindi mo ba nagustuhan? Sabi mo kasi mas gwapo ako kapag maikli lang ang buhok ko eh. Kaya nagpagupit ako." Pagmamayabang niya.
"Of course. It suits you pero hindi ka na dapat nagpagupit nang dahil lang sa sinabi ko."
"May balak naman talaga akong magpagupit eh." Aakbayan sana ako ni Luke pero hinila siya ni Maddox na nasa tabi na pala namin.
"Hey, man!! Ikaw ang nagpanalo sa atin!" Bati ni Luke kay Maddox na siyang humila sa kanya palayo.
Maddox didn't answer him and stared at me.
"Uh... Congratulations. You are really great." I said awkwardly from his heated stare. Thankfully, Luke wasn't able to see this because Cara was busy taking pictures with him.
Maddox didn't say a word, grabbed my wrist and started walking away.
"San tayo pupunta?" Tanong ko sa kanya na pilit inaalis ang pagkakahawak niya sa kamay ko pero lalo lang itong humigpit.
People were looking at us with confusion.
"Maddox, san ka pupunta? We still have a victory party later." It was their coach but he also ignored him and continued walking. It was hard for me to keep up from his pace.
Napatigil naman sa paglalakad si Maddox nang harangan siya ni Luke na nakatakbo na pala palapit sa amin.
"Where are you taking red cheeks?" Tanong ni Luke.
"It's none of your business." He said rudely.
"No. Your are forcing her to go with you."
Napapikit ako dahil, nararamdman kong magkakaroon ng away kapag hindi pa sila tumigil. Mukha talagang galit si Maddox sa hindi malamang dahilan at alam kong hindi rin naman magpapatalo si Luke sa kanya.
"It's okay Luke. Go back to your team mates." I assured him.
"Are you sure?" Paninigurado ni Luke.
