Locker room
Penelope's POV
"You did what?!" Cara exclaimed turning towards me completely forgetting about the chocolate cake she's eating. I could be laughing by now if our topic wasn't that serious. Her teeth is stained brown from the cake but she didn't mind and frowned at me.
"Cara, keep it down please. Alam mo namang ayaw ng papa mo ng maingay." Sita ni Tita Linda ang mama ni Cara na mukhang may pupuntahan at napadaan lang sa sala kung saan kami nag-uusap ni Cara.
"And Penelope, would you like some cake? Itong si Cara talaga. You didn't even offer Penelope something to eat." Tita Linda shook her head to her daughter disapprovingly.
"No, it's okay tita. Hindi po ako nagugutom at saka mukhang kulang pa yata ni Cara yung cake kaya hindi na po ako makiki-agaw." Pagbibiro ko at mukha namang hindi naapektuhan si Cara sa sinabi ko.
"Oh siya, mauna na muna ako sa inyo. I'm going straight to Sterling." Tita said kissing us both in the cheek before leaving. Ang tinutukoy nito ay ang woodcraft business na naiwan ng mga magulang ko. Sila na ang nagpatuloy nito dahil hindi ko kayang pagsabayin ang pag-aaral, pagpapatakbo ng flower shop at pati narin ng Sterling woodcraft.
Sterling is my father's second name while the name of my late mother's flower shop is Happy bloom. Hindi ko alam kung bakit happy bloom ang pangalan ng shop. I think it just came out of nowhere.
"What exactly did you do Penelope? Tell me everything." Cara put down her plate of cake to the coffee table and crossed her arms waiting for my answer anxiously.
"Well... umpisahan natin noong hinila niya ako right after the game into his house. He was so mad and I asked him why. Sabi niya, bakit daw wala na ako sa tabi niya pagkagising niya. I was clueless until he said he wanted to date me."
"Whoa!!! The great and mighty Maddox Preston wants to date my cousin?"
"But of course I refused."
Cara gave me a disappointed look at this.
"Bakit ka naman tumanggi? Helloooww!! Maddox Preston never date. Dating is not his style. He only date once in a blood moon. No, let me rephrase it. As far as I know, Maddox Preston have never dated ever!" She exclaimed. I rolled my eyes slumping at the sofa hugging one of their pillows.
"You're overreacting again. At saka hinaan mo nga iyang boses mo. Tito will hear you. We both know he doesn't like too much noise." Sita ko sa kanya. Her father is very strick just like my dad. Well, they're siblings so I guess it does make sense.
"I am not overreacting. It's a fact." She retorts.
"Fine. Now, can I continue my narration?" I asked raising a brow and she nodded.
"After that, he dragged me to their victory party and to make the story short, I was insulted by Sean, Maddox punched him and there was a fight until I stepped between them right before Maddox can throw another punch at Sean. I tuned to Maddox, told him to stop his arrogant claiming in front of..." I trailed thinking how many persons are there in the club who witnessed my outburst. "something like 60 people then slapped Sean so hard that my hand stings before leaving."
"Double wow!! Wala naman akong problema sa pagsampal mo sa Sean na iyon. You are not a violent person and knowing you, you wouldn't hurt anyone if they don't deserve it. Pero ang ipahiya si Maddox sa harap ng maraming tao? Diyan na tayo hindi magkakasasundo pinsan."
"Did I really embarrass him?" Nakokonsensya kong tanong.
"Sa tingin ko naman hindi siya ang tipo ng lalaking madaling mabawasan ang self steem. But the problem is, by now, kalat na siguro sa buong school ninyo ang nangyari. Gossip spreads fast, you know."
