Never Good Enough
Maddox's POV
Looking beside me, El was lost at the scenery outside. I'm driving us home and I couldn't help but smile at our intertwined hands. I kissed the back of his hand which got her attention from the window. She smiled and I put her attention again on the road.
Hindi naging maganda ang naging reaksiyon ko nang makita ko silang sumasayaw ni Blue kanina. Inaamin kong nagselos ako sa pinsan ko. I know Blue, I trust him. He might me a cassanova but he will never break our bro code. I trust him not to try anything with El.
Kahit ganon' pa man ay nainis ako nang makita ko silang nagtatawanan sa dance floor kanina sa party. El was genuinely happy and I hate it because I've never made her laugh like that before. But like all the time, El knows how to make me feel good. Dahil sa mga sinabi niya kanina ang gumaan na ang pakiramdam ko.
May tiwala ako kay El na hindi niya ako lolokohin at ipagpapalit sa iba. I used to break a girl's heart but when I met El, I've changed my ways. She's the only girl I've ever wanted to be with and I would probably die if she left me. I wont let anything break us apart.
"I'm sorry about my father." Pag-uumpisa ko sa usapan. "Alam kong hindi maganda ang ipinakita niya kanina sa server. May pagka perfectionist kasi siya and he wanted everything to work according his ways."
"It's okay. I really don't mind. He was really kind to me." She smiled sweetly and focused her attention in the window once again.
Kumunot ang noo ko dahil kanina pa siya nakatingin sa bintana. She barely looked at me. Kanina ko pa din sinusubukang makipag-usap sa kanya.
"What's bothering you?" Tanong ko dito.
"Nothing. I'm okay."
She's always been a bad liar. Whenever she lies, she couldn't look straight to me and she tends to lick and pursed her lips.
Hindi na ako nagsalita. Matapos ang ilang minuto ay himinga ito ng malalim at saka lumingon sa akin.
"Nabanggit sa akin ni Sky si Mia kanina, yung kababata niyo. She's really pretty."
I didn't fail the slight bitterness in her voice and I froze at the same time at the mention of Mia's name. Makakatikim talaga sakin si Blue. I hope he didn't told her stories about Mia.
"What did Blue told you?" I asked.
"Wala naman siyang mabanggit maliban sa pagiging madaldal nito."
Nakahinga ako ng maluwag sa sagot ni El. So Blue didn't told her anything after all. It's true, Mia is our childhood friend. Mia, Sky and I grew up together. Mia and I shared a lot of firsts together. She's my first kiss, the first girl I've slept with and a lot of other firsts in which I really regret. But it was never more than that. I never loved her. I could never give back the love she has for me.
Hindi ko alam kung ano ang magiging reaksiyon ni El kapag nalaman niya ang nakaraan namin ni Mia. Pero gayon pa man, mas pipiliin ko nalang na itago ang lahat sa kanya. It was done and it's already in the past.
We should stop going back to our past. Pasts are meant to be remembered, it's not something or someone we can come back to.
In my case, I'm not really proud of my past so I'd rather forget about it. What matters now is Penelope.
Penelope's POV
I just got home from my flower shop when I noticed a black car parked outside my house as I parked my own car inside my garage.
Pagbaba ko ng sasakyan ay saktong bumaba na din ang laman ng sasakyan. Nagulat ako dahil ang ama ito ni Maddox. He's wearing a tux as he elegantly approached me.
