After smashing that food Steez got the itis and fell asleep. I stayed up and watched The Young And The Restless with his mom. I miss my family and my phone. I'm dead bored.

"So then Adam killed Billy's daughter and Billy mad." Steez mom said thinking I was paying attention to her soap operas. I nodded my head. She paused her show.

I turned and looked at her. "What happened?"

"You been here before?" She asked.

"Here here or like...New York?" I asked.

"New York period."

I shook my head. "No."

"Really. You look familiar."

"Really?!" I raised an eyebrow.

"Mhm. You have a brother in college?"

I heart started pounding in my ears and they got hot. "No. I have-I don't have a brother. I'm the only child." I lied.

"Yeah? You don't act like it."

I chuckled nervously. "What do you mean?"

"You're not greedy and selfish. That's good sweetie!" She rubbed my shoulder and smiled. "I'm glad Jamal didn't bring a hood rat. You're a good girl. I see it."

I smiled shyly. "Thank you Mrs. Dewar-"

"Please. Call me Ma."

"Ok Ma." It felt weird but I'll get used to it. Hopefully.

"Jamal wake yo ass up!" Ma slapped his legs waking him up.

He groaned and sat up. "What happened?!"

"Nothing! How you gonna fall asleep on Stephanie like that?!"

"Ma it's ok. It's not that-"

She put her hand in my face stopping me from talking. I wanted her slap her hand away but I kept my cool and let her talk.

"It's not ok. Jamal get up and take her around the city."

"Mom I've been driving for about seven hours. Please let me rest. I'll take her out tomorrow. I already showed her some stuff today and told her...some-some stuff."

Ma turned to me and gave me a Is-that-true look. I nodded my head.

"Alright. I apologize Jay. Sweet dreams honey." We left the room and went back to the living room.

"Since he's tired I'll take you around the city myself." She looked in the shoe closet.

"No! It's fine. Really! I'll wait tomorrow."

She frowned. "You sure Steffy?"

"Positive." I smiled widely.

She closed the closet. "Aite now. You haven't anything to do?"

"No ma'am."

She smiled. Teeth and everything. "You're so respectful! I hope all the girls in Virginia are like that."

"Uh no. I'm one of a kind."

She gave me a high five. "Thats right! I like that!"

I giggled and grabbed one of the pillows on the couch and cuddled it.

"How is it in Virginia?"

"Oh it's great! Wayyyyy different though."

"I know it! Where in Virginia?"

"Alexandria."

"Sounds like a beautiful place."

"It is. You ever been to Virginia?"

"Never. I've never been anywhere since I've been in the United States. I've only been to Jamaican, St. Lucia and New York."

"Oh...I'm sorry." I didn't know what else to say.

"No it's fine. It's not your fault. I'll get out of this hood soon. The lord got a plan for me."

I just nodded my head.
