I laid in bed, watching Rome toss and turn throughout the night. I can tell he has a lot on his mind between everything with what his mom told us and his next trial date. The trial for tomorrow was postponed until next week which was relieving. Too many things were happening at once and Rome truly needed a break.
Suddenly, I watched Rome shoot up in the bed, breathing heavily and looking around the dark room before turning on the light.
"Relax...relax..." I said worriedly as I rubbed his back in comfort. He turned and looked at me. I could see the horror in his eyes. Once he realized that it was just me, he calmed himself down and began breathing normally again. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm straight." Rome lied, with a groggy expression. "Just a bad dream" he shrugged off.

"Are you sure? You know if there's something bothering you, you can talk to me about it." I reminded him.
"I just been thinking about my dad and shit. I still can't wrap my mind around him going through the extremes just to make sure that you and I break up. Like that shit is crazy man... And then what if something happens to my moms? Like what if that nigga finds out she's here and does some crazy shit?" Rome said anxiously.
"Nothing is going to happen to her. She's going to be just fine, for real. I think you're worrying too much babe." I told him, poking his cheek, attempting to make him feel better.
