Maya's POV

I've never been a morning person, but this pregnancy is making it so much worse for me. On top of not being able to sleep last night because someone decided it was time to play in my stomach when I wanted to go to bed. It was taking me a little longer to get ready then usual today. I just had no motivation for anything today.

"Maya, if you don't hurry we're going to be late to school!" I heard Lucas yell from the living room. I hurried up and put foundation on my face and put on eyeliner then brushed me teeth.

"I'm hurrying, I can only move so fast carrying this thing you know." I said as I grabbed my backpack off the couch.

"That thing is our child." He said in an offended voice.

"Are you carrying it for nine months?" I asked him sarcastically while I was locking up the apartment.

"No."

"Okay then. You don't know what it's like to not be able to move at your normal pace so zip it." I replied as we walked out to his truck and got in.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you in any way." He finally said about halfway to school.

"It's fine, just forget about it. We have a long day ahead of us and this isn't how I planned for it to start." I replied while scrolling through Twitter on my phone to avoid talking about my mood.

We got to school with 15 minutes to spare. I was at my locker getting things around for half the day since Lucas and I had to leave in the middle of the day for a baby appointment.

"I'm gonna go to homeroom, I'll see you in there." Lucas said as I was trying to get my books together.

"Okay."

"I love you Maya." He said and it made me smile to myself.

"I love you too."

After he walked away I got everything else together and I could see Riley walking towards me. Seeing her always brightened my day no matter what.

"Hey Maya, did you get that insane assignment done last night?" She asked looking like she got about as much sleep as I did.

"Yeah, Lucas and I went to his moms after school. She gave us some stuff for the baby, but afterwards when we got home and ate, I did the assignment. It was pretty brutal." I replied to her with a half smile.

"Oh that's nice. Did you have fun?" She asked.

"Yeah, Lucas was such a cute baby." I replied with a chuckle thinking about the pictures his mom showed me yesterday.

"Was he?" She laughed as we started walking to homeroom.

"Yeah, his mom showed me a bunch of pictures from when he was a baby and also some videos." I explained to her which made her laugh even more imagining it.

"You messed with him big time didn't you?" She asked.

"Of course I did. Have you even met me?" I asked her sarcastically as we walked into her dads classroom and took our seats.
