Sakura fumbled with the gift in her hands as she slowly walked up the steps leading to Sasuke's front door, for some reason she felt a little déjà vu as the memory of her thanksgiving popped up in her mind. As her hand reached up to knock in their door, the memory of Sasuke kissing her cheek made her hesitate as a red hue decorated her cheeks. What if things are awkward between them now? Sakura shook her head and knocked, he was the one who kissed her, she shouldn't be feeling hesitant at all!
The door opened revealing a dark haired boy around the same age as Itachi. "Hey there, I'm Shisui! Im guessing you're one of Sasuke's friends?"
Sakura nodded, offering a small smile. The boy, now known as Shisui, stepped aside to let her in. "Sasuke! Your friend is here!" He called.
A couple seconds later, Sasuke rounded the corner. A Christmas hat rested on top of his head and Sakura couldn't help but giggle at how cute he looked.
"Merry Christmas!" She said, handing him the gift.
"Thanks." Sasuke said, holding the gift with one hand and grabbing her hand with the other. "Everyone else is this way." He said.
Shisui watched the two walk away and scratched his head. "I'm still here y'know..."
In the living room, Itachi was talking to a family friend, her name was Izumi. Fugaku was talking to his father and Mikoto was just walking out of the kitchen with her cousin. Christmas music played in the background and Sakura couldn't help but realize how classy this family was, very different from the Uzumakis and the Namikazes. Mikoto spotted to flash of pink amongst the dark haired Uchiha and decided to go investigate, only to see her youngest son holding the hand of a pink haired girl. Mikoto squealed, her little boy was growing up! She was beginning to think Sasuke had a thing for Naruto, not that she would mind, Naruto was a nice boy.
She walked over to introduce herself. "Hello there! I'm Sasuke's mom, you can call me Mikoto."
Sakura turned to the woman and gave her a smile. "Hello Miss Mikoto! It's nice to meet you, I'm Sakura." She replied.
"Sasuke? Is this your girlfriend?" The woman asked, her smile began turning into a grin.
Although he attempted to keep his impassive facade up, you could tell that Sasuke was flustered. "No mom! She's my friend." Sasuke replied.
Sakura was watching the mother tease her youngest son when the annoying voice of Krul rang out through her head.
"Mikoto doesn't even like you, you're just ruining this party."
Sakura inwardly scowled and tried to ignore the little demon, continuing to watch the two converse. Just as Krul was about to speak again, another voice interrupted her. The only difference was, this voice wasn't in her mind.
"Sakura? I didn't know you were going to be here too!" Naruto said, walking into the living room with his parents.
"Naruto? What're you doing here, didn't you say your parents were going to throw a Christmas party too?" Sakura asked.
"Yeah, but mom said she refuses to clean the house again. It was too much work last time, even with dad helping her!" Naruto said.
"Why weren't you helping?" Sasuke replied to him this time, his mother had gone to talk to Kushina.
"I did help! I ate all the left over ramen from the party!" Naruto defended.
Sakura giggled and Sasuke merely rolled his eyes.
"Don't roll your eyes at me teme!" Naruto yelled, luckily the music drowned him out so the other guests wouldn't hear his yelling.
"Stop being such a dobe." Sasuke replied.
"Oi-"
"Enough you two, let's enjoy the party!" Sakura budded in.
Naruto sighed. "Alright, only because you asked, Sakura! But you're not getting away with that teme!"
Sasuke simply sighed and the three of hung out for a while before they somehow split up. Sakura was now talking to Shisui, the door boy that was forgotten.
"So you're Sasuke's and Itachi's cousin?" Sakura asked.
Shisui nodded. "I remember having to babysit Sasuke, it was a nightmare."
Sakura laughed, asking about the details. Apparently the once lively Sasuke had thrown smushed up tomatoes into Shisui's hair before putting some in his own. She was sure to hold that against her dark haired friend.
The night had finally ended, for Sakura at least. She had walked, so she needed to get back before it was too late at night. Luckily, Naruto was heading home too and Minato offered to drop her off at the dorms. The car ride was very... loud. The Uzumaki's really liked to sing, that's for sure.
"Let's play one of Naruto's favourite songs!" Kushina said, an evil glint in her eyes as she swapped the CD's.
"Wait! Mom, I better not be the--" Naruto was cut off as 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua began playing throughout the car, causing Sakura and Kushina to break out into hysterical laughter and Naruto's face to turn as red as a tomato.
"C'mon Naruto! Sing along like you always do!" Kushina teased.
Naruto sunk lower into his seat and Sakura simply patted his head. "Just be glad Hinata isn't here, or else you'd be twice as embarrassed as you are now, right?" Sakura teased.
If possible, Naruto's face became redder. This time it wasn't because of the song.
The car was filled with loud chatter and music as the ride continued, and Sakura knew for sure that this was her best Christmas ever. She made a new friend, confirmed that Naruto had some feelings for a certain Hyuga and got to spend time with her friends.
This was certainly the first Christmas Sakura had ever had this much fun, and it wouldn't be her last. -------------------------------------------
