"I have to tell my father, too" Stiles said to Scott.

We met at the Preserve right after Scott called us a few minutes ago, telling us that Jackson was gone. When we arrived the truck was empty, doors bashed open with claw marks on them. Jackson could only escape being the kanima. He was stronger and faster as the kanima.

"I'll come with you!" I joined the conversation the teen boys were having but Stiles denied. "No you won't. I don't want you to be involved with this. You stay out of it! I didn't drop you off last night for no reason when we stole the truck. Go home, Amber. This was Scott's and my idea and not yours. Please just go home."

I sighed. "Okay."

Stiles smiled, knowing that I wasn't going to be in danger.

"But then I'll go with Allison" I said looking over to her. "We still have to translate these five pages of archaic Latin and it won't translate itself."

"Okay, then let's do it. That's our plan for now" Scott breathed out.

Allison drove back to her place. It was already past midnight. Luckily her parents were fast asleep so I could avoid having another unpleasant conversation with her dad.

Allison opened the door to her bedroom and turned on the light. While she walked over to the desk in her room and dropped her books on it, I noticed someone sitting on Allison's bed.

"Lydia?" I mumbled.

"What did you say?" Allison asked me and turned around. As she saw Lydia sitting on her bed she shrieked in shock. "You scared the hell out of me!" she yelled at Lydia.

"I've been sitting here for an hour, waiting for you" Lydia said.

"Lydia, we're sorry but we can't hang out right now" I pointed out and dropped my bad next to Allison's desk.

"I don't need anyone to hang out with!" Lydia protested. "I need someone to talk to!"

"I- I understand that it's important but if it can just wait-" Allison said but got interrupted by Lydia. "Why is everyone always telling me to wait? Why can't anyone have right now available?" she cried out as she stood up from the bed.

"Because you can't have everything right now" Allison said cold. "You know what we need? We need someone to translate five pages of archaic Latin and obviously that's not going to happen anytime soon."

"I know archaic Latin" Lydia maintained.

"You what?!" I asked her. "You know archaic Latin?!"

"I got bored with classical Latin" she just stated, pointing out that she was actually a smart one.

"How smart are you?" Allison questioned but Lydia reached out her hand, trying to tell us to give us the pages. "Just show me."

Allison opened her notebook and showed Lydia the pages. "Are you sure you can translate it? Because we really need them" she said.

"Let's see. Like the wolf, the Kanima is a social creature but where the wolf seeks a pack the kanima seeks a master. The kanima, a weapon of vengeance, is used to carry out the bidding of its master."

"Wait hold on! Are you sure it means master? Ms.Morrell said that word means friend. The kanima seeks a friend" I interrupted her.

"She was wrong. It means master" she answered and got up from her seat. Immediately, Allison took the seat and stared at the screen. "The kanima seeks a master" she repeated Lydia's word.
