                                                       Chapter Six

"You're going in the wrong direction!"

"I think I would know where my old house is, Anna--"

"No, you don't!"

"Yes, I do!" Vincent barked as he stopped at the red light. "Now, will you please shut up? You're giving me a headache." He let out a heavy sigh as he rubbed the temples of his head.

I crossed my arms like a stubborn child. "Fine," I said as I turned to face my window. "But don't ask me for directions when you get us lost."

Vincent rolled his eyes as he stomped on the gas pedal. "Who said we were even lost in the first place?" He stated.

We were driving out of the downtown core of Toronto and into the Greater Toronto Area where Vincent's old house was located. For anybody, it might have seemed odd to be sitting beside a rockstar who used to be your best friend, but for me, I could have cared less. All I cared about at the moment was getting to the Gray's house so I can fill up my now grumbling stomach. We would have been there by now if it weren't for Vincent's lack of memory of the city.

"I swear we just passed by that Shoper's Drug Mart like a millions times already." I looked at Vincent with raised eyebrows.

"You're annoying."

"What does that have to do with anything I'm saying?" I snapped.

"Because," Vincent started as he looked at my with his hazel eyes. "If you weren't so damn annoying, maybe I would be able to concentrate on the road and maybe we'd be at my house by now." He rolled his eyes again as he fixed his eyes back onto the road.

"So you're admitting that you don't know where to go?" I snorted. "I told you I should have been the one to drive."

"You don't even have a driver's licence!" Vincent's grasp on the steering wheel tightened as he looked at me again. His hazel eyes were wide with frustration, he looked as if he was ready to jump out of the vehicle just so he wouldn't be sitting me.

"So?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

Vincent gave me the death glare. "God," he grumbled. "You always think you know everything."

"I do not!"

"Yes, you do!"

After a few more minutes of bickering at each other, we finally made it onto the highway. There was traffic going on so Vincent and I were forced to sit with each other even longer thus creating even more arguments between us. I must say though, we were never like this two years ago. As a matter of fact, I couldn't recall if we ever raised our voices to one another. But I suppose, this just goes to show how much we have changed. That little hope I had inside of me that my old best friend was in there somewhere, well, I couldn't bet on that anymore.

When I finally decided to shut up because of my dry throat, I just sat looking out the window not even bothering to tell Vincent that we were headed in the wrong direction-- again. When we had reached the highway, it was because Vincent finally took my advice but now, as Vincent exited the highway, all I could see was a big Wal-Mart. I rolled my eyes. What were we even doing here? I thought to myself.

Vincent noticed my aggravated look on my face and just chuckled. "School supplies," he said. "You told me to buy some, remember?" He cracked a smile in my direction and I just stared at him.
