Where Do Broken Hearts Go? - One Direction
When I woke up the next morning Harry was gone, I figure he needed to take care of something before work especially since he had been working more hours with Nathan. Oh God, maybe something happened to him.
No Sara, Nathan is fine and Harry is fine. You'll see him at your session so just chill.
After taking a quick shower and feeding Roxy I got dressed and head out to school, upon arrival I see Emily waiting at the front of the school with a coffee looking like hell. Sighing I climb out of my car and walk over to her, "How are you?" We both ask at the same time.
"You go first." She says softly as she hands me my coffee.
"Thanks, um I guess I'm alright. Just kind of unsure about what's going on, kind of lost myself in a Harry bubble the last two days." I admit and she smiles just as the bell rings.
"Can we talk at lunch? Please?" She begs and I nod softly, "Thank you." Emily whispers before kissing me on the cheek and running to class. I found myself wandering to a familiar classroom instead of my first period, before I knew it my knuckles were tapping against the wood.
"Come in." A voice commands, I open the door and slip in to see Ian working at his desk. "Sara?" He asks after parting his lips in surprise.
"How are you?" I ask quietly as he walks over to me.
"I'm fine, how are you? Are you alright?" He asks and I nod softly.
"I just wanted to thank you." I whisper.
"You're not mad at me?" He asks in surprise and I shake my head.
"I knew what I was getting into the day, I have no right to be mad at you because I wasn't the one you cheated on." I say firmly as he looks down, "I'm not judging you, I know how hard relationships can be especially when the stress of a child is added."
"I had filed for divorce right before she told me she was pregnant, I prolonged the hearings until we found out the paternity. It wasn't mine anyways so I proceeded with the divorce, I never meant to hurt you." He explains, I offer him a soft smile before touching his arm.
"I know you're a good man Ian, you proved that to me Saturday."
"I wish I could of done more, some cop showed up and took him away but it didn't feel right so be careful ok?" Ian says softly, I lean towards him and hug him gently.
"Thank you." I whisper before kissing him on the cheek and leaving the classroom.
The rest of the day flew by quickly, at lunch I met Emily at our normal spot where she explained everything. She and Chloe started seeing each other a few months ago, at first it was just a curiosity. Just an itch she watched to scratch, Liam had known about it but asked to tell him if she began to develop feelings because at the end of the day he just wants her to be happy.
But she didn't.
She kept her feelings to herself and tried to break it off with Chloe because she knew her mom would never be supportive of having a lesbian daughter. At my art gala they had run into each other, one thing led to another and that rekindled their connection. She wanted to tell Liam but didn't want to hurt him.
Chloe always hated me for taking Emily away from her, not as a friend but as a lover. She's always been in love with Emily but never knew how to explain it let alone act on it until recently. Everything she put me through, all the bullying and teasing. It was because she was so unhappy with herself, she was tortured with not being able to be honest not even to herself.
Now I know that when she apologized, it was genuine. She sees that all I am to Emily is a best friend, nothing more.
I assured Emily that I love her no matter if she likes girls, boys or even bears. As long as she is happy I am happy. She cried for about ten minutes before killing half of a chocolate fudge cake before telling me that she broke up with Liam, that he deserves so much better then her lies and curious ways.
I had a smile on my face walking into the art room, today was the day I found out the placement for my painting plus it meant I would see Harry in less then an hour. There was a large gathering of art students that had entered their work as well, Mrs. Willows started with the low scoring pieces and made her way up to the highest.
But she wasn't calling me.
"Sara Andrews." She calls out and I step forward nervously, "Congratulations sweetie, you won first place." She says as she hands me my painting with a large blue ribbon attached to it, tears of happiness and pride come pouring from my eyes as I throw myself into her arms and thank her for everything.
A lot of the other students came around and congratulated me, some more genuine then others. I just couldn't believe it, it wasn't just any piece but a piece that meant SO much to me.
A piece of my love.
After the bell rings I sprint from the art room across campus before bursting into Harry's office, "Harry you'll never believe it!" I squeal before stopping dead in my track seeing that Harry wasn't the one sitting behind the desk.
"Miss Andrews, please sit down." Principal Johnson says firmly, I gnaw my lip nervously before setting my painting down and sitting.
"Where is Mr. Styles? Is he ok?" I ask, concerned that my worst fears have come true. That Michael hurt him.
"He's fine, unfortunately I had to let him go on Friday." He replies and I furrow my brows, why didn't he tell me? "You see his fiance called and told us he had been carrying on an affair with the student he was treating. "He adds as he leans forwards, "You Miss Andrews."
"But we did-" I go to defend Harry but he holds his hand up to stop me.
"The pieces started to come together, why he had your dog, why you two were seen together outside of school." He pauses before frowning, "Why you brother in law had reported it to me months ago but I chose to ignore it knowing how much of a lying scumbag he is." Principal Johnson says, his eyes show sympathy for me but his job is his job and rules are rules. "Mr. Styles was to leave the campus immediately and cease all contact with you until after graduation but he disregarded that and took you to prom. Do you really think a haircut and fake ID would trick me Sara?" He asks angrily and I look down at my fingers.
"I'm sorry sir, I had no clue what he was planning." I admit in a soft voice and he sighs.
"I'm not a monster Sara, I'm trying to protect you." Principal Johnson says as he walks to the front of the desk before leaning back. "Look I know love when I see it and he is head over heels in love with you as you are with him, but that doesn't mean it's not wrong. Just get through graduation ok?" He suggests and I nod softly.
"Can I ask a question?" I ask and he shakes his head yes, "Was his fiance's name Lottie?"
"I think so." He shrugs, "I don't see how that matters."
"It doesn't sir, thank you." I reply before picking up my things and heading to the door.
"Sara." He calls out, I turn around and he sighs. "I am sorry."
"I know." I reply weakly before walking to my car, the wheels squeal as I burn out of the parking lot. I had to get to him, I had to see him.
After pulling into the familiar driveway I don't bother to even knock as I burst through the door and run to his room shouting his name.
"Sara!" Liam calls out before running after me towards Harry's room, I fall to my knees once inside the room once full of him and evidence of our love.
Now it's completely empty.
"I'm sorry Sara, he's gone."
