20- Jessica the Vampire

SPIKE'S POV

We arrived at the white house, it looked untouched but that was Angelus' style, to make it look like everything is normal. 

'Should we knock?' I asked Buffy, she gave me this look as in to say 'are you dumb?', I laughed 'right sorry' and marched straight up to the door, it was locked, I looked around to see if anyone was watching and then when the coast was clear pushed the door knob in to break the lock, and the door swung open.

'I could have done that' Buffy said rolling her eyes

'Hey we're a team' I replied playfully hitting her on the arm

The place looked completely deserted in the front lounge, like it had been left perfectly and never touched. 

'The windows have no curtains' I said pointing to the large ceiling to floor windows in the front lounge 

'Okay?' Buffy replied 'we're not looking for renovation ideas' 

'No love, meaning during the day sun will be pouring in and at night vampires go outside, therefore if they're living here it's not in the front room' I explained 

'Oh' Buffy laughed 'right, that's smart Spike, good thinking'

We ventured into the back rooms that look more used, blinds were drawn and the rooms were dark. 

'Surely they aren't here now' Buffy said

I walked into the first room and switched the light on, surrounding the bed was hundreds of dolls, it was like a sacrifice had been made.

'She's been here' I told Buffy

'How do you -' Buffy started to say but stopped when she saw the dolls lying everywhere, 'so... did you guys used to like, you know... next to the dolls?'

'Buffy shut up!' I told her

She burst out laughing 'okay, okay sorry. Had to ask though' 

'Plenty of things I could ask about your ex's'

'Go ahead I'm an open book' she told me

'I don't want to know anything, you know I'm the jealous type' I replied

'Aw, I know and I love it'

'Well, well, well. What do we have here? Couple of sickly love birds?' said a voice

'Why don't you just show yourself Angelus' Buffy said

'I don't want to fight you guys' he said stepping out of the shadows 'Dru's just doing a little errand for me, she'll be back soon'

'I know your errands for Drusilla, you've just got her out killing people' I said firmly 

'You're right' he laughed

'Have you seen Jessica?' Buffy asked

'Wow you guys went to all the effort to find me just to ask about a little slayer?' he questioned

'Just answer the question' I shouted stepping towards him

'Whoa Spikey calm down' Angelus joked waving his hands in the air, 'I haven't seen Jessica' 

I turned to leave and grabbed Buffy's hand.

'Not since the other day' he added

'What?!' Buffy yelled

'Yeah' Angelus said 'she was delicious'

Before I knew what was happening Buffy had punched him in the nose and I definitely heard a crack. Angelus just laughed in her face, 'ask her next time you see her, how'd I taste?'

I saw Buffy's face drop, 'excuse me?' she asked 'what did you just say?'

'You know what I said' Angelus replied 

Buffy turned, grabbed my hand and ran out the house and we didn't stop running. After we were streets away I pulled her back

'I think we can stop running now pet' I told her

'No we can't' she replied

'He's not following us'

'It's my fault' Buffy said breaking down and crying 'Jessica is a vampire and it's all my fault'

I pulled her in tight, 'no Buffy, it's not your fault, it's not your fault she came to Sunnydale', I started wiping the tears off her cheeks with my fingers, she buried her face into my chest and cried some more. I rubbed her back and told her we weren't far from home and that she should get straight into bed. She finally pulled away and I walked her home, once I opened the door the gang was sitting in the living room.

'Buffy what's wrong?' Willow asked standing up from the lounge

Buffy ran upstairs and everyone turned to look at me,

'I think you all need to sit down' I told them

'Spike what the hell happened man?' Xander asked

'It's Jessica'

'Did you find her?' Tara asked

'No' I replied 'We found Angelus though and he told us something about Jessica'

'Is she dead?' Giles asked dreading the answer

'Technically... Yeah. I mean, Angelus turned her into a vampire.'
