jennie stood by the window, her eyes focused on the crashing waves outside. it was their last day in jejju and the weather did not seem so promising. yes, a week had already gone by and her relationship with jisoo was the best it had ever been.
for the first time in awhile, she felt happy. happiness went through her body, making her relaxed as the corners of her lips went up unwillingly to bring a smile to her face.
after their engagement, jisoo thought it would be nice if the duo would ask their families to visit them so they could tell them the big news. jennie would've agreed, but her parents were always busy with work, so she suggested something else. once they went back to seoul, they'd visit their parents instead and stay for the night before leaving the next day. although it seemed exhausting to do since they wouldn't get to rest properly, it was worth it.
jennie hadn't went to her parents house in awhile and she missed them. she was an only child, so she was attached to her parents a lot. her parents also valued her dearly and cared so much about her as if she was a butterfly that would break when in contact with the outside world.
the arms that wrapped around her, made her thoughts disappear as she smiled once realizing it was jisoo.
"we need to pack our things, although i'd love to stay like this." she chuckled as she smiled slightly.
jennie turned around to face her, only then standing up as she scanned what she was wearing. it was an oversized button up that reached to her thighs. a thought of where she might've gotten it, popped into her mind, however she didn't say anything regarding that.
"i hate packing." she sighed as she walked over to the closet, opening its doors before starting to grab the neatly folded shirts and making her way towards the suitcase.
"who doesn't?" jisoo asked as she sat down on the edge of the bed, brushing her hair.
"do you want to head to my parents' house first or your parents' house?" she asked after remembering the fact that they still haven't decided where to head first.
"i think my parents' house is closer to ours, so let's go there first." jisoo replied as she started packing up, walking around the room.
jennie hummed as she went to the bathroom to grab her toiletries. "we've been dating since highschool and i've only met your parents once. wonder how weird it will be when you finally tell them we're together."
"you think it'll be weird? i've never met your parents before." jisoo whined from outside the bathroom as she continued packing. "you should tell me about your parents."
the younger female walked out of the bathroom after having collected her toiletries as she looked over at the elder female. "there's nothing much to say except the fact that they're always busy with work." she answered simply as she put the rest of her clothes in her suitcase, sighing in relief once she was done as she changed into knee length jeans and a short sleeved shirt, having a jacket around her waist as well, since airports tend to be colder.
"oh, right. that's why you wouldn't talk about your parents." jisoo mumbled as she finished packing her suitcase, now wearing something similar to jennie's outfit as she fixed her makeup.
"yeah, but they love me a lot since i'm an only child. i've always wanted a sister or brother though. it must feel good to have someone around in the house. but instead, i got kai and kuma." she chuckled as she tied her hair up into a ponytail.
"kai and kuma are cute though." jisoo stated as she grabbed her suitcase and pulled it to the door.
"so are you." ** * jennie thanked jisoo's father for helping her carry the suitcase upstairs to jisoo's room. the ride home had been awkward, mostly because it was only her father and jennie was silent the whole time and would only talk whenever her father would ask her something.
"i'm sorry if the ride back home was uncomfortable." jisoo apologized once the two were left alone in the room.
jennie looked over at her as she took off her shirt, deciding to take a shower before eating dinner with jisoo's parents. "it's fine. it's nice to see that you and your father are close to each-other."
"yeah, my dad was always around as i grew up. my mother, however, was always working." she answered as she bit on her lower lip while examining how jennie looked.
"kind of like my family." jennie mumbled as she smirked once she saw jisoo checking her out. "take a picture, it'll last longer."
a chuckle escaped her lips once she saw jisoo's red cheeks. her gaze averted somewhere else as then jennie let her hair down, walking closer to the elder female.
