The Titanic sank April 15, 1912 after hitting an iceberg, killing hundreds of people on board the ship.

There are many theories about "the unsinkable ship," and in here I will go over a few of them.

The Titanic was deliberately wrecked.

The theory goes that the targets were John Jacob Astor IV, Benjamin Guggenheim, and Isador Strauss - who were opposed to the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank. Their deaths in the wreck supposedly smoothed the way for the establishment of the Federal Reserve Bank the following year, in 1913.

Because the Titanic was supposed to be an engineering marvel, some have claimed that it was sunk by an outside force - not an iceberg, but a torpedo from a German submarine. Supporters of this theory pointed out that several survivors heard explosions after the ship began sinking, and some saw a searchlight in the distance prior to the arrival of the rescue ship.

This isn't so much a conspiracy theory, but it's worth noting. In 1886, the influential British writer William T. Stead published a short story titled "How the Atlantic Mail Steamer Went Down." Its plot is eerily reminiscent of the Titanic disaster: A mail steamer in the Atlantic collides with another vessel, and a shortage of lifeboats on board caused an enormous loss of life.

Stead was a passenger on the Titanic. He died in the wreck.

A particularly mystical theory for the wreck blames the tragedy on a "curse." According to this theory, a historian sailing on the Titanic was carryingthe remains of an Egyptian mummy, which were stored on the bridge to avoid damage. You can see where this is going: Supposedly, the remains were cursed, causing the Titanic to sink mere days into the voyage.

This theory probably has the most evidence, if you believe it.

On the 20th September 1911 the Olympic collided with the HMS Hawke just off the coast of the Isle of Wight. When the White Star Line tried to get the insurance money it was denied because White Star was found at fault for the crash.

Because of this they couldn't make money off of the Olympic so the theory goes they devised a plan to switch Olympic and her sister ship Titanic, which was still being built when the Olympic was brought back

When trying to prove this theory people point to the pictures of both the sister ships.

Olympic had 16 portholes and thin, unevenly spaced windows while the Titanic had 14 portholes and the windows where all evenly spaced. And when the "Titanic" set sail it had 16 port hols and the windows where unevenly spaced and thin.

Also, in the wreckage of the ship where the name Titanic should be you can see a faint "MP," letter in which the Titanic does not have, but rather they are letters in the Olympic

So which theory do you think is true? Or do you believe it really was the Titanic to sink that day?
