Unknown POV

I watched the woman and man interact and use the newspaper I had picked up to take sly pictures of them. My job was just to take pictures and follow them around a bit. I had already tailed them before in my small Mini Cooper. It was a good car for being inconspicuous, which was incredibly important for having a job like mine.

Leaning on one of the walls gently, I snap photos of them. When I look back at the photos, I see that they are blurry so decide to get closer which was slightly risky but I know the better the picture, the more money I get. I casually walk closer while pretending to read the newspaper that was resting limply in between my fingers.

I get so close that I can overhear their conversation and listen carefully so I can give a full report. I glance every now and again at the couple as they converse. Nothing was really going on right now. All of a sudden, the two split up and I immediately decide to follow the girl as that was my objective. I bring out my phone and pretend to be on the phone while trailing the girl surreptitiously.

"Hey, Nicole! I'm heading there now." I say and nervously look away from the tall man who was with the girl. His dark eyes scan over me with curiosity but he strides past me and I sigh in relief as I didn't want anyone suspecting me as I'd have to abort the mission.

The girl starts to walk faster and I internally groan. "Yes, yes! Baby, you worry too much." I fake and make sure I keep my eyes on the girl. Suddenly, my vision is blocked by a figure and I have to stop quickly. I look at the man who is giving me a wide, but apologetic smile and he waves his fingers in my face. I try to maneuver my way around him but he just steps back in front of me.

"I'll call you back, love you." I place my phone in my back pocket and raise an eyebrow at the man who would possibly cost me my job if he didn't get out of my way.

"Sorry to disturb you but I was wondering where the nearest station is?" The man asks and chuckles, slightly scratching his head in confusion and I almost want to punch his face.

I scoff and hiss, "I don't know, now if you'll excuse me. I have somewhere to be right now." I successfully get past him and when I glance back at him, for some reason, he has a smug smile on his face and when I meet his eyes, he sends me a wink and a wave but I just turn back around and try to catch a glimpse of the girl.

I scan the crowds of people looking for her but when I come up short, I start to panic slightly. Dammit, it's all that man's fault. I search, search and search but don't find her. I walk dejectedly out of the shopping centre and when I notice some dark blonde hair, my interest perks up because the woman I was following had the same type of hair so I begin to follow leaving some distance.

She walks down a narrow pathway and I get a bit sceptical. I was getting a bad feeling coming from this area and I immediately wanted to turn back and go home but my boss' threat echoed throughout my mind driving me onward. Suddenly, the girl stops and turns around with a glare on her face. Had she known all along that I was following her? What she says next confirms my suspicions and my heart drops. "Who are you? Who sent you?"
