"Hey it's me Nadia, sorry I couldn't get your call but leave a voicemail after the beep" her voicemail said once again.
I had just came back from sidelining the preseason game against Atlanta, which we won, But trying to get a hold of Nadia has been my number one priority
"Are you fucking kidding me?" I said out loud to myself. I've started to realized Nadia is just a tad bit petty.
And of course she left me on read. Okay I get it, I messed up but I'm not about to beg anymore. If she doesn't answer this last call, I wasn't going to push her.
I tap her contact and the phone begins to dial, and after the fourth ring she picks up.
"How may I help you Mr. Reece" she says
"You know you're petty as hell right" I say chuckling
"I don't know what you're referring to but I was busy, some of us have things to do" Ok yeah she's definitely upset with me "but what can I help you with?"
"I'd like to cash in my prize for that pool match I won. Remember that?" I ask with a smirk
"You blew up my phone for this. Okay, fine then what would you like as a prize Hunter?" I can tell in her voice she was a little annoyed with me still
"I'd like to take you out, on a date. I'll just let you know now, you can't say no because that's what I want and a deal is a deal" I say cheesing hella hard
"...uhhh"
"I'll pick you up at seven tomorrow?"
"T-that's fine" she says shyly
"Ok see you then" I say hanging up the phone. I start celebrating in my hotel room—jumping up and down, fist pumping the air
It was only after talking to Luke yesterday, I realized I had a deep rooted issue of why I ultimately thought being in a relationship during the season was a distraction.
Earlier
"What in the world makes you think dating is a distraction" Luke said grabbing a drink from the mini fridge "lots of players date and they are just fine"
