Burrowers are large passive insect like creatures that belong to the Natsutroid Kingdom, this species is both oxygen and light sensitive. To avoid the painful and potentially deadly oxygen and sunburns they live deep below the surface of rocky planets found in the Gamble Galaxy and the Spakia Galaxy. Well suited to living in low to no oxygen or light environments, they feast upon crystal like algae growths found beneath the surface. Depending on the type algae they eat will determine what they look like as they start to mature.
Burrowers are sentient, are live in large tribes often of just their own gem kind. Alpha Queens (displayed above) are the rulers of the tribes, they are always female, and there is no 'kings'. They communicate with telepathic abilities, bonding and working together in communities to substain nest like caverns. Once every year the Queen will mate with one of the Betas, Betas being the smaller but stockier members in the tribe, and lay anywhere between three to ten eggs. The queen is the only one that lays eggs, at least one of these hatchlings will grow up to be another Queen and eventually succeed her mother. The other children will grow up to either live in their birth tribe, or leave to go live with another tribe and possibly start their own. Only the queen can lay eggs.
In order from top to bottom, there is the Blueberry Burrower Queen Fanhas, the Quartz Burrower Queen Boltwig, the Peri Burrower Queen Falltake, and finally the Ruby Burrower Seeffrig. Betas are the super majors, Omegas are the minors, all Burrowers start out as Omegas.
