Thrip is the taboo offspring of a HiveWing and a Silkwing, when his HiveWing mother had his egg she labeled him an orphan and abandoned his egg in the hatchery so her illegal relationship with her SilkWing servant wouldn't be discovered. Ginco the LeafWing spy stole his egg from the hatchery with the orders from Princess Himalayan to try figuring out how the Mind Control worked, and as he was stolen before Queen Wasp could give him his final injection of the mind control poison. He was taken in and raised by Himalayan and behaves like a LeafWing, for awhile the LeafWings thought he couldn't be controlled because he was a hybrid, before learning from Cricket that it was actually because of the plant Queen Wasp was injecting into the eggs. By then he is two and a half years old.
