"Kiss it better." // "I love you."

In hindsight, it probably wasn't Apo's greatest decision to sneak up on his buff boyfriend. He knew Waii was secretly a scaredy cat and that his reaction to most things that scared him was violence. And even if Apo knew this, he still decided that to scream in the sleeping boy's ears was a good idea. Apo hated the fact that he made that decision.

"I really am sorry, I didn't mean to hit you," Waii pouted, holding the bag of frozen peas to Apo's split lip. Apo tried to smile reassuringly but flinched when he felt the wound pull.

"It's my fault anyway, I'm sorry I scared you," Apo spoke, voice muffled by the plastic of the bag. Waii shrugged, concern still pulling his eyebrows close together. Apo sighed, guilt filling his stomach. If he hadn't had scared Waii, he wouldn't have gotten punched. If he wasn't punched, he wouldn't be internally crying about his busted lip.

"It looks like it's going to scar," the tan boy's pout deepened, eyes shining from held tears. "I'm really sorry I hurt you."

"Then kiss it better," Apo teased, not expecting for Waii to actually remove the frozen vegetables and plant a kiss on the frozen lips. Apo's eyes widened before they slipped closed, kissing back earnestly. The two kissed before Waii pulled back, lips painted in red.

"You're bleeding again," he whined, standing to grab more paper towels to blot the oozing liquid. Apo felt bad but all he could do was watch Waii. Waii was never really a gentle person, but feeling him barely add any pressure to the wound as he soaked up the excess blood on the tissue reminded Apo of how much the other swimmer changed. Waii changed and now he was a whole new person.

"I love you," he whispered, a shy smile pulling at the corners of his lips when Waii stopped his motions and looked at the ground, body full of embarrassment. Apo stayed quiet when the swimmer started to clean the wound for the second time.

"I love you, too."
