virgil sighed as he laid on the hallway floor staring up at the ceiling. he heard footsteps coming towards him and then saw roman looking down at him. "are you okay?" he asked.

"why are we here?" he asked, looking into roman's eyes.

"because thomas is in his apartment-"

"no not that i understand that. why are any of us here? why are we thomas's aspects? there are seven billion people in the world why were we chose to be thomas's aspects?" roman was speachless as he sat down next to virgil. "why were we chosen to be aspects? why aren't we humans? or are we with our own aspects that we haven't seen yet?"

roman laid down next to virgil. "i.. i don't know."

the both of them laid there for hours, questioning existance. logan ended up finding them, scolding virgil for breaking roman again.

two days later, virgil was perched on the counter staring at the floor. logan walked up to him and put his hand on virgil's knee. "what's wrong?"

"why are dogs dogs? why are birds birds? why are humans humans? who is to say that i'm not a lizard? why are we forced to live by these standards set for us millions of years ago?"

logan looked at anxiety, wide-eyed. "jesus christ, not this again!"

"yes this again. i need answers. who is to say that thomas's name is thomas? why does he have to be asigned this name at birth?"

logan sighed dragging his hands down his face. "look, i don't know, but how about we think about something different-"

"how are we important? we pollute the earth and take up space. we are all completely nothing yet we're treated like gods by thomas's fans." logan tried not to let virgil get to him but as his words sunk in, logan also began to wonder.

"you're... right.." he said, sliding down and sitting on the kitchen floor along with virgil.

roman was the one who found them this time. he didn't do anything except take logan and virgil to their rooms to ponder there.

it was saturday and this time virgil was laying across patton's lap staring at a blank screen on his phone. patton only noticed this when he glanced down at virgil after finishing a chapter in his book. "virgil. i know what you're thinking-"

"what if we're in a simulation."

"virgil no."

"virgil yes."

"even if we were in one, how would be able to freely think? it would noy make sense."

virgil nodded. "you're right. but what about why are we here."

"because atoms decided to join and form us."

"yeah but-"

patton smiled and shook his head a little. "shhh. it's time to stop thinking about that. how about instead we cuddle and take a nap to get your mind off of that stuff."

"but time is an illusion."

patton pulled virgil into a more comfortable position. "shut up and sleep."

"but-"

"sleep, child!" patton smiled. virgil sighed but eventually complied tp patton's request and fell alseep.
