Chapter Twenty

-Cess-

Nahihiwagaan na ako kay JC or paranoid lang talaga ako? As far as I can remember he was never this sweet. Oo he was my Knight in Shining Armor pero hindi siya mahilig magsurprise at parang kapatid lang ang turing sa akin. Maybe I'm just overreacting or just overwhelmed with the changes.

The JC I used to remeber was lanky at makulit but boy had he grown. Nang tinitigan niya ako kanina parang natutunaw ako. Ang gwapo talaga ng bestfriend ko kaya hindi ako nagtataka bakit marami ang naghahabol sa kanya. Walang epekto ang killer dimples niya sa akin kasi sanay na ako sa pagpapa-cute niya. Naalala ko tuloy ang sabi ni tatay at umalis na ako sa pagkakayakap sa kanya.

"Thanks ulit! Pasok lang ako sa bahay ha?" Sabi ko sabay pasok sa loob ng bahay.

Sinuot ko ang bracelet at tiningnan kung bagay sa akin noong naalala ko na hindi ako nakapagreply kay Joaquin.

Tiningan ko ang oras at quarter to 6 na pala. Lumabas ako ng bahay para magligpit at unti-unti na silang nagpaalam kasi may pasok pa bukas. Nang matapos kami sa paglilinis, umuwi na din sila JC at Tita Stella.

"Anak, sa kwarto muna ako ha? Magpapahinga lang ako. Happy birthday ulit anak." Sabi ni tatay at pumasok na sa kwarto niya.

I counted 5 minutes at narinig ko ng humihilik si tatay. Hihihi! Naligo ako at nag-ayos kasi magkikita ulit kami ni Joaquin.

Tiningan ko ulit ang orasan at 6:30 pm na pala. Nag-iwan ako ng sulat sa ref at lumabas na. Naka-sundress ako with wedges kasi hindi ko alam kung ano isusuot pero dapat presentable ako.

Nakarating ako sa secret gazeebo at dahan dahan binuksan ang mini door.

Namangha ako sa nakita ko kasi iba na naman ang setup! May mga balloons at may malaking banner na happy birthday. Another surprise from a different guy and I hate to compare pero I can see both made the effort to make my day special.

"So happy birthday to you dear... Let's celebrate tonight." That was the sexiest happy birthday song ever! Lumingon ako at nakita si Joaquin holding a mini cake with a candle. He was wearing a white fitted shirt that showed his sculpted chest and low rise jeans. He looked like a Calvin Klein model and I practically drooled. How can a guy be so insanely hot and handsome?!

"Cat got your tongue?" He said and half smiled.

"Ah... I was just speechless kasi I didn't expect for another surprise." Andyan na naman ako nauutal.

"Blow the candle and make wish."

Hinipan ko yung candle at nagwish. Nang binuksan ko ang aking mata ay napasinghap ako. His face was just inches away from me... Eto na ba? Is my first kiss going to happen?

"There's something on your face." He removed a petal from my cheek. Namumula ako sa kahihiyan! Akala ko naman hahalikan na niya ako!

"I wanted to kiss you too." He smiled knowingly.

-Joaquin-

I know she was shocked by my declaration. I just can't help but tease her. She looked so cute yet tempting when she closed her eyes and pouted her lips.

"Come and let's have dinner." I said.

Yaya prepared chicken and pasta. I don't eat rice by the way. We ate heartily and chatted just like before. I sliced the cake and offered her a bite. She licked the icing from her lips. Damn. I'm just a man and this is killing me. She doesn't know the effect she has on men.

"I love chocolate cake." Sabi niya sabay subo ulit ng cake. Feeding her is so tantalizing... Urgh! I need to steer clear of my sinful thoughts.

"I'm glad you liked it." I replied and gave her a napkin so she can stop licking her lips.

"Thank you for the rose and this birthday surprise. Nag-abala ka pa." She said and smiled.

"Anything for you, Cess." I replied.

"I have question pala." She turned serious.

"Fire away."

"Why are you doing this? Don't get me wrong ha? Natutuwa ako pero hindi ko alam kung bakit."

This is the question I dreaded to hear because I myself can't explain why. I have never been like this with anyone else nor with Sophia. Natahimik ako.

"Alam mo wag mo na lang sagutin. Sorry I asked." She said and pouted her lips. That again!

"It's okay." I said softly and she looked at me expecting me to elaborate what I said.

"I want to be with you, Cess."
