Chapter Thirty Four

-Cess-

Umuwi kami kinabukasan ni Sam galing sa party at dumaan muna kami sa isang gasoline station nang may nakita akong healine sa newspaper.

Montemayor and Da Silva, merging as one.

Nakita ko sa photos na andon si Joaquin kasama si Selena at mga magulang nila.

"Uy di ba si Joaquin yan? Tanong ni Sam

"Oo siya nga. Kaya pala sila magkasama kagabi."

"Selos ka no?! Parang pugita makadikit yang Selena kay Joaquin. Sagutin mo na kasi." Sabi ni Sam sabay tawa.

"Paano si JC?"

"Hindi pwede na dalawa sila lagi. You have to choose one."

"Eto na lang... Sa 18th birthday ko, kung sino ang mauunang magpropose sasagutin ko."

"Nge! Eh bakit ganun? Sino ba talaga mas matimbang sa puso mo?"

"Naguguluhan ako so I will let fate decide for me."

"Loka loka ka. What if fate planned a twist?"

"Then it's a risk I'm willing to take."

Da Silva is in the brink of bankruptcy and this is not what I had expected from my father. He was always sure of himself and never failed in any of his business ventures.

"Joaquin as my sole heir, you will do your best to keep our family's legacy no matter what are the costs." Enrico Da Silva said while drinking brandy in his office.

"I see then why are we merging with the Montemayors? I had made investigations and found out that the company suing us is under the Montemayors."

"That's rubbish! Why would they want to destroy us when they in fact are helping us regain our losses?"

"Don't you think Uncle Rodrigo has been jealous of you since you were always ahead of him and even stole the love of his life which is my mother?"

"Nonsense! We are bestfriends and he never wanted your mother anyway. Your allegations hold no merit so you will do as I say."

"I will find a solid evidence for their deception. I can find a way to save this company than merge with them!" I said and stepped out of the office.

"Joaquin! Come back here!" Shouted my father but I was too pissed to care.

I went out of the building and drove away to clear my thoughts then found myself at the house of Cess.

I saw here cleaning their mini garden. She looked adorable that I forgot I am pissed right now.

"Hey babe." I said. Yes, I have been calling her babe and it just fits her baby-face appearance.

She turned around and gave me her sweetest smile.

"Joaquin! Napadalaw ka? Nagtext ka ba? Naiwan ko kasi cellphone ko sa loob."

"Just had a bad day. Is your father here?"

"Wala umalis. Bakit? May masamang balak ka no?" Biro ko sa kanya at ayan na naman ang sexy laugh niya.

"Would you like to go out with me on this sunny day?"

"Sige magbibihis muna ako." Sabi ko at pinapasok si Joaquin sa loob ng salas at ako naman ay pumasok sa kwarto.

Nang nakabihis na ako, nakita ko si Joaquin nakatingin sa photo souvenir namin ni JC noong JS prom.
