Chapter Thirty Seven

-JC-

Ang tagal naman ni Cess. I can't contain the excitement while holding this ring I am going to give to her.

Perks talaga na type ni Leo at Sam ang isa't isa kaya nalaman ko about Cess's plan. Sam accidently blurted it to Leo and because we're bestfriends ay sinabi niya sa akin.

Who will propose first is the one she will choose tonight. This is it. Cess is going to be mine.

Tiningan ko ang watch ko at past 10 na. I have been wainting for more than an hour at wala pa din si Cess.

"JC." Napalingon ako at nakita si Sam.

"Alam mo na ba?" Bungad sa akin ni Sam.

"Alam ang ano? Asan na si Cess?" Naiirita kong sagot. Hindi si Sam ang gusto kong makita kundi si Cess.

-Cess-

As I said, I will leave everything to fate and just like that, it choose what my heart desires most.

"Joaquin"

He turned around and I ran into his arms. Like a movie, a song played into the background. It was kiss by kiss my Emilia.

You can't believe.

How did I succeed.

I went were no ones gone before.

I opened up your heart and

tiptoed through the door to forevermore.

"So I guess this means a Yes." I heard him say and tilted my chin.

"Yes, Joaquin. Yes." My voice barely a whisper.

What did I do?

I tooked my time with you.

The other girls they moved too fast.

I knew the way to make it last was take it slow.

I let it go.

"A siren has captured my heart and I guess this is long overdue." His lips kissed mine. It was earth-shattering.

Kiss by kiss and baby touch by touch.

That you wanted me so much darling kiss by kiss is how I got you to fall in love with me like this.

"I'm in love with you, Cess. The moment your song beckoned to me." With that he kissed me again.

I was glad that fate has decided because Joaquin was all I wanted.

-JC-

"Alam ang ano? Asan na si Cess?" Naiirita kong sagot. Hindi si Sam ang gusto kong makita kundi si Cess.

"Si Cess at Joaquin na."

"Anong sila eh ako ang unang magpopropose sa kanya? Kanina ko pa siya inaantay dito." Galit kong sagot.

"Kaka-announce lang ni Cess sa father and grandparents niya."

"Sh*t naunahan ako ng Joaquin na yan! Di ba tayo lang ang nakakaalam nito?"

"Oo at hindi ko sinabihan si Cess. Akala ko nang lumabas siya ay diretso siya sa iyo." Nanlulumonh sagot ni Sam.

Pumasok kami sa fuction area para hanapin ni Cess. Nakita ko siya kasama ng grandparents niya at may ibibigay na regalo sa kanya. Pupuntahan ko sana siya ngunit pinigilan ako ni Sam.

"This is a family moment. Respetuhin natin. You know naman na ngayon lang sila nagkita na mag-anak." Sabi sa akin ni Sam.

Naalala ko tuloy na tinakwil ang nanay ni Cess dahil nakipagtanan kay Mang Kiko. Pero lalong lumalaki galit ko nang nakita ko si Joaquin nakahawak sa beywang ni Cess and sharing that special moment with her.

"Wow may car keys pla laman niyon." Narinig kong sabi ni Sam at nakita ko sasakyan pala ang surprise gift nila kay Cess.

Hindi ko mapigilang masaktan nang hinatak ni Cess si Joaquin at tatay niya para makita ang sasakyan sa parking lot.

Everyone left to see the car outside without me. Umuwi na ako. I will have to ask her tomorrow na lang. I can't spoil her happy moment. This is supposed to be our night together and not a nightmare.

-Joaquin-

Kissing her for the first time took my breath away. The softest and sweetest lips I ever kissed. Kissing her would surely be addicting.

After Sophia, I thought I would never fall in love again and there came Cess.

Waiting for her has been worth it and she is mine and I am hers.

"Let's go? I want you to be there when I meet my grandparents." She said and pulled me.

We went outside and into the ballroom to meet her grandparents for the first time.

"Hello apo. You've grown beautiful just like your mother." Bungad ni Katerina Villacrucis at niyakap siya.

"Glad to finally meet my one and only granddaughter." Sabi naman ni Julio Villacrucis.

I checked her grandparents and they were rich hacienderos in Negros and when their only daugther left, they did not give a single cent. I am glad that they finally accepted Cess.

"We have a gift for you. College ka na apo kaya kailangan mo ito." Inabot ng lola niya ang isang maliit na kahon.

"Oh my! This debut party is already much pero I'm really thankful for this. Salamat lo at la." There was a car key inside and she hugged them both.

"Let's go to the parking lot, apo." Yaya ng lolo niya.

"Halika tay at Joaquin, tingnan natin!" She squealed excitedly.

We all went to see her surprise gift and I saw on my peripheral vision that JC left.

I was the one for Cess and I hope he finally understood that.

-Cess-

I feel so thankful and happy this day! Everything was perfect and I feel so blessed pero may kulang.

After namin tiningnan yung surprise gift ko ay pumasok kami sa loob.

"Bes nakita mo ba si JC?" Tanong ko kay Sam.

"Kanina ko pa hinahanap. Umuwi na raw kasama ng mama niya kasi masama daw pakiramdam ni Tita."

Na-guilty naman ako dahil hindi ko sila naasikaso at dahil siguro nalaman ni tita kami na ni Joaquin.

"Magkikita sana kami, Sam. Sa may bridge pero pinuntahan ko si Joaquin."

"Oo yun pla bes. He was waiting to propose there to you. Bakit mo pinuntahan si Joaquin? So si JC dapat ang nauna." Pagtataka ni Sam.

"Si Joaquin ang nauna kasi kaninang umaga pa siya nagpropose."

"What?! Hindi mo man lang sinabi skin." Alam ko sumakit loob niya kaya pinabasa ko sa kanya ang note ni Joaquin.

"Kaya technically si Joaquina ang nauna and fate has sided with me." Sabi ko kanya habang binabasa niya.

"Oh my ang sweet naman ni Joaquin! Kaya hindi ako magtataka bakit na in love ka sa kanya. Congrats bes and I hope na maging masaya kayo." Sabi ni Sam at niyakap ako.

Narinig namin ang sigaw ni Pia.

"Finally! Kayo na! I'm so happy for the both of you!" Bati ni Pia at niyakap kami ni Sam.

"Aside from my girlfriends's birthday, what seems to be the celebration?" Sabi naman ni Joaquin na lumapit sa amin.

"Of course, this is the day you say goodbye to being a bachelor! Come! Group hug!" Hinila ni Pia so Joaquin palapit sa akin and we embraced. Laughed. Danced the night away.

Am I selfish when I am so happy right now that I hurt my knight in shining armor and best friend forever?
