Stark's POV
They say we must celebrate our birthdays because it's one of the important events in our lives because that is where we start living. I used to be fond of preparing mine or someone's special day. Hanging balloons on the posts, baking cake, playing fun games with your friends, blowing candles, the exciting feeling whenever you open those gifts given by your dear friends, everyone wishing the best for you. I've experienced all of that when I was younger. We may be different but we're able to live a life like how humans live theirs.
We are like those kids on the streets. We laugh, we smile, we feel happiness, we feel pain, we feel anger. We're not like what you've heard.
"Hanggang ngayon wala pa rin siyang malay but she'll be fine", I turned to King na bahagyang tinapik ang balikat ko.
Nandito pa rin kami kung saan nangyari ang bagay na kahit kailan hindi ko pa rin inaakalang magagawa ko, oo ilang beses ng nangyari pero ngayon nalang ulit ako may naipahamak na tao simula nang pinakamalaking bangungot sa buhay ko.
Hindi na muna kami nagpasyang bumalik agad dahil sa kondisyon ni Julienne. Binabantayan ni Storm at Cloud ang labas dahil hindi naman gwardyado ang lugar na 'to hindi gaya sa mansyon. Ako at si King ang susunod na magbabantay sa paligid pagkatapos nilang dalawa. We've been doing the same for 3 days already. Palit palit lang kami sa loob at labas.
Binalik ko ang tingin ko sa labas ng salamin na pader, "She could've died. She's barely breathing when you carried her"
I'm furious about what happened to her. She is just a human. How can she survive this?
"Hindi mo 'yun ginusto. Walang may gusto nito. It's just... nagkataon lang na kasama natin sila at nasakto lang kung kailan ang eksaktong araw kung saan hindi natin alam kung bakit nangyayari sa'yo" he paused at nagpakawala nang mahabang paghinga, "I know you have alot on your mind these days. You just need rest"
"I'll leave as soon as she woke up. I don't have the guts to face her after what I did to her", I swallow the lump on my throat as I felt my eyes blur.
Muli siyang bumuntong hininga, "I know where your coming from. I also lost my mother, Stark. We may be in different situation but I believe we share the same pain. I know how scary those sleepless nights without someone on your side. You were 21 and you already have us when your Mom died but I was 9 when my Mom died", Natawa siya ng mapait, "Imagine how hard is it for me to continue life if the person who taught and show you how beautiful it is is no longer breathing. Life is indeed unfair"
I can feel the bitterness in his voice, my pain reflects on him.
"Then why did you choose to continue life when in point of fact it's already gone" What's the point of fighting on when your reason is gone.
Napatingin ako sa kanya nang hindinsiya agad nakasagot.
"Because this life is given to me. She gave me this so I won't do something stupid to waste this. She sacrificed herself for me. Hindi ko yata kayang sayangin ang ginawang 'yon ng sarili kong ina just because I'm tired of my life's bullsh*ts and so. Kaya kung ako sa'yo titigil na ako sa ginagawa ko" he speak like he knew everything. Like he knew every single bit of what I am through now when the truth is not.
"You understand me. You never understand me.", my fist clenched. Nararamdaman ko ang pamilyar na pakiramdam ng pagtaas baba ng dibdib ko dahil sa galit, "I killed my Mom! I lost her! And now it happened again! I almost kill her! I f*cking broke her ribs! I almost killed the woman I love!"
King's reaction made me more furious. I wanted to wipe off the smirk on his face.
"You went ballistic when you saw her after you transformed into a monster and that's it. Naisigaw mo na lahat. Sa'yo na rin nanggaling kung anong matagal na naming sinsabi sa'yo" I hate him giving me that kind of look.
Hindi ko pinansin ang sinabi niya. Lalagpasan ko na sana siya nang pigilan niya ako sa balikat.
"Stop holding back, Stark. It's never a help. Love is not something you can avoid forever even if you try to. We're not bound to love. Wala tayo ngayon kung oo. Just think of our parents" seryosong sabi niya.
"Get off me" marahas kong tinabig ang kamay niya sa braso ko at tuloy tuloy sa labas hanggang sa maabutan ko si Cloud na nagbabantay na nakakunot ang noong nakatingin sa'kin.
"Hindi mo pa oras para magbantay. Bumalik ka sa loob" sabi niya pero hindi ko pinansin.
"Where's Storm?" nilibot ko ang paningin ko.
"He's out, making sure if the coast is clear" mahina niya akong tinulak, "Pumasok kana sa loob. Magbantay kayo doon ni King"
Umayos ako sa pagkakatayo, "I don't wanna see King right now. I'll replace Storm if he comes back. No more questions just let me"
"Why do you look so pissed?"
I hissed, "Don't ask"
Bakit ba hindi siya nakikinig sa simpleng sinabi ko?
"You should pay her a visit. You stayed at the same house but you act like you don't" Cloud started.
"There's no need. I'm telling you, aalis ako kapag nagising na siya"
That's for the better.
"You're being unreasonable, Stark. Aalis ka sa oras na mas kailangan ka niya? Are you even a man? You dragged her into situation na hindi niya ginusto at wala siyang kaalam alam and now you're leaving her after what you've done to her?", prenteng nakasandal sa katapat kong pader si Cloud habang hinahagis hagis sa kamay niya ang maliit na bato na para bang wala lang sa kanya 'yung sinabi niya.
Nanatili akong tahimik dahil sa totoo lang may point lahat ng sinabi niya. Tama lahat 'yon. Ang lakas kong mang iwan kung ako naman ang nagdala sa kanya sa sitwasyon na 'to.
"You'll leave her just like what Catalina did to you. Gusto mo bang maranasan ni Julienne 'yung naranasan mo noon? You want her to feel how miserable it is to be left out and manipulated by love?", he paused. Tiningnan niya ako ng diretso, "Do you still know what love is, Stark?"
Mariin akong pumikit. Sobra sobra ang pagpipigil kong saktan si Cloud for bringing her up.
"They're different" halos pabulong na sabi ko at nanatiling nakapikit.
"You say" si Cloud sa kaswal na boses.
"Do not ever mention her infront of me again", I don't have any plans with her.
Never again.
"She's a mad woman. We all know that pero nanatiling umibabaw ang maling impormasyon tungkol sa inyong dalawa. They all knew that you were head over heels inlove with that girl when the truth is she tried to lure us four for power. Hindi pa rin natin alam kung saan nanggaling ang sabi sabing nagtanan kayong dalawa and you as a secret lover. I even heard them saying na itinakas mo siya mula sa asawa niya" hinagis niya hawak niyang bato at sinundan kung saan iyon lumapag, "Disgusting sh*t"
Napatulala akong bigla, "Why are we hiding them again?"
I know the reason but I just couldn't connect it sa mga nangyayari sa'min.
"Because they want their blood to bring Vladimir back to life"
