Selene_Crescent: Wait, you published like, what? Three one-shots during summer vacation, but you've already written 1...? You do realize school just started...

You held your ground. Heavy breathes came out of your mouth. Your heart hammered against your chest. Your mind was set ablaze. The duel-disk on your arm glowed a vibrant shade. A single sweatdrop scrawled down your neck.

You drew.

"I fusion summon!" you announced. "I combine my two monsters to bring out-- um, where is my monster?" you asked.

Sora sent you a questioning look from the other side of the field. "You have to put your fusion cards in your extra deck, not your normal deck," he pointed out, casually licking a lollipop.

The holograms faded away. You set your duel-disk down.

You moaned. "I'm never going to pass this exam!" you wailed. The Yushow Duel School was holding their first term exams in a matter of weeks. Your friend and fellow duel-tainer, Sora, was helping you prepare.

Sora plopped the lollipop into his mouth. "Let's take a break for now. Want some ice cream? I'll pay," he suggested.

You did your best to put on a smile. You nodded.

Sora grinned.

The two of you walked together to the closest ice cream parlor. Cool breezes blew through your hair. Nature's scent lifted into the air. The honking of cars never seemed to cease in Paradise City. For once, you listened in as they played a symphony of the city.

"Hey look (Y/N)!" Sora excitedly pointed, "there's the store!" he told you. You smiled.

A bell chimed as you stepped inside. You were blasted away by the lingering aroma of freshly baked waffle cones. Several customers were already seated at the brightly coloured tables. A lady noticed you.

She walked over, hair in a covered bun and wearing the logo on an apron.

"Hello, is there anything I could get the two of you?" she asked.

You nodded. You and Sora placed your orders.

When the woman had headed back, Sora told you, "you should find us a table, (Y/N)," he said.

"Alright," you agreed.

A light music played in the distance. You glanced around at the taken spots. A particular window seat caught your attention.

You sat down on the cushy seat. It wasn't long before you could spot your blue haired friend merrily walk over.

Sora waved over, holding two cones of ice cream. The second was wobbling.

"Hey be careful!" you giggled as you called.

"Huh?" Sora glanced to the dessert. The cream stacks were nearly falling off. "Woah!" he exclaimed. He regained their balance. "Phew," Sora sighed in relief, then walked over to you.

He handed you the first cone, stacked with your favorite flavours and toppings. You struggled to take it as you hid your bursting laughter.

"Anything funny?" Sora wondered.

You nodded. There was a splotch of blue cream on his nose. The sight was enough to make you blush. You wiped it off, as Sora turned a slight red.

He laughed, "hey thanks," he winked.

You smiled, as time passed on. You enjoyed your ice cream with Sora, merrily chatting. It was cool against your tongue. Soon enough, the two of you had finished. You thanked him for the moment.

Sora stood up minutes afterwards. "Hey (Y/N), you still up for a duel?" he asked.

You nodded and answered. "Of course!"

You headed outside. The sunlight was warm, but adequate at best. Cool breezes still blew by.

"Why don't we go to the park?" you suggested.

"Sounds good to me," Sora replied.

You glanced forwards. The park was in sight. Greenery filled your vision. When you had made it, you took out your (F/C) duel-disk. You inserted your deck into it, making sure the fusion monsters were in your extra deck. Sora stood on the opposite side of you.

You went over everything in your head. Polymerization in deck? Check. Fusion materials ready? Check.

There was a glint in your (E/C) eyes. Determination? Double checked.

"You ready?" Sora called.

"You bet!" you told him.

Sora grinned, "Alright!" he took out a green lollipop. "But let's make this duel extra sweet," he winked, putting in into his mouth. You smiled. A wave of confidence came over you.

"Let's duel!"
