"Mommy, are we leaving the country and going to stay with grandma and grandpa forever?" Cara asked nuzzling her head in the crook of my neck. She was feeling sleepy as it was already half past midnight
Flashback
"I don't know how two people who love each other can stay apart from each other....it's like you're thirsty but still you're choosing not to drink the water. Man, like seriously?! Why?"
"You won't understand, Mr Stone. It's complicated." I said looking the other way.
"It's complicated because you're making it that way. Why don't you want to go back to Shane when now everything has gone back to its initial position?" He asked trying to read my face
"It's not easy...I can't go back to Shane. I can't." I said wiping the single drop of tear on my cheek.
"Why isn't it easy?" He asked determined to get his answer
"Because...he chose his reputation over his love. He chose to marry Tiara to maintain his family's name and prestige. As a son and heir to his family, it was the great decision that he took and trust me, I respect him for that...I always will. But, as a lover, he failed. How can I go back to Mr Adams when he himself is not sure about what he wants. I don't think that in the future when this kind of situation will arise again, he would be able to take the right decision. Will he be able to choose me over his prestige? Unsure right?!This is the reason why I cannot return to Shane. This time I don't think I will be able to take any risk with my heart." I said
